I am here for Friends

About Me

Called "Lord of nothing but the Dance" by some this SoCal native is often confused by dance steps and seldom "lordly."
I graduated from high school with no goals in life. I went to college in San Bernardino where I started as an art major. I quickly realized art wasn't for me when I could not create a proper color wheel. I decided I go where all listless and ambitionless folks go. I became a theatre major. I grew, I made lifelong friendships, I graduated, I stopped contacting my friends.
After graduating with a BA in theatre (with no goals in life) I took the next logical step and got a job outside the realm of theatre. I became an IT guy and software developer. I now live in the San Diego area with my opera singin' wife. We're raising two sons, whom everyone thinks are simply precious.
I moonlight with a crack commando unit that was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. The men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the San Diego underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire us.

My Interests

Photography- I'm learning how to take pictures. Decent picture. Mostly for fun. A little bit for my other hobby of web development.

Podcasting - Click on podcasting if you don't know what it is...

Audio books- I'm addicted to my subscription to Audible. I've been listening like a mad man.

Music- I've been growing my collection of music by listening to a lot more independent artists as well as lesser known signed artists. There's so much good music out there.

Web development- Although you wouldn't know it by the looks of my own websites, I'm getting pretty good at this. Hopefully I'll feel good enough about my own stuff to make it go live soon.

I'd like to meet:

Music:

Nerf Herder - Currently my favorite band. Actually, they've been my favorite for a very long time.

Majek Fashek - Totally my favorite reggae artist.

Apples in Stereo - This group is probably one of those bands that I always tell people about. Take a listen.

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes - Best cover band ever.

The Hazzards - This little quintet including an ukulele and a glockenspiel is another one of those bands that you just gotta hear.

Chris Thayer - This guy is a very talented musician. His voice is awesome and he's a great writer.

Movies:

The Impostors- Probably one of the best flicks I've ever seen. Starring Oliver Platt and Stanley Tucci this movie resurrects a genre that died long ago. It's simply the funniest movie out there and has the best opening scene ever.

The Blues Brothers- This classic starring John Belushi and Dan Akroyd changed my view of bluse music forever. It's where I found my "soul."

The Baxter- This comedy starring Michael Showalter and Michelle Williams never hit the main stream and that's truly a shame. It's a playful comedy that pokes funt at "romatic comedies."

Lagaan- This film starring Aamir Khan is Bollywood at it's best. The music is enchanting and the story keeps your attention even with the distraction of subtitles.

Real Genius- Val Kilmer, truly at his best.

Television:

I don't watch much television. Only The Daily Show and The Family Guy. Sometimes Futurama, but only when the DVR records it instead of The Family Guy.

Books:

The Story of B - Daniel Quinn, Brief History of Time - Stephen Hawking, Mahabharata, Hegemony or Survival - Noam Chomsky, Manufacturing Consent - Noam Chomsky, The Bible, The Colour of Magic - Terry Pratchett, True and False - David Mamet, Morality Play - Barry Unsworth, Books of Blood - Clive Barker, Blood and Smoke - Stephen King, Musical Anecdotes - Norman Lebrecht, The Dilbert Principle - Scott Adams

Heroes:

Tiny Tim
