Kendra Okamoto

Hello! for those of you who don't know me, my name is Kendra Okamoto. I'm a 1986 baby which makes me a Tiger. It also makes me 20! :) I've been playing guitar since 14 and I've been singing since i was a wee lil girl. My mother once told me that when i was about 3 or so her and my brother would have "Pump up the Volume" blaring on the car stereo and i would be sitting in my car seat all strapped in, kicking my tiny little legs to the beat of the song. Thus I firmly believe my passion for music has been with me since my days as a toddler. :DIn addition to that, I absolutely adore music! Everything i touch or do tends to be musically related, whether I'm writing something new, fiddling with my guitar or busting out my violin. If I'm not doing one of those things I'm often listening to music, dancing around all silly around the house, or surfing the net discovering the vast amounts of music that the world has to offer. I also LOOOVE going to concerts because nothing is better than seeing an artist or band that you love and feeling the rush of emotions and excitement that their performance brings :DAs for my experience as a musician and venues: I have played at the Detroit State Theater in 2005 (my senior year in HS) for the very first ever Detroit News Battle of the Bands for the 19 and younger. :) it was an amazing experience something i had only dreamed of until then and as a result i met some really awesome and equally creative fellow musicians there. It was kind of intimidating though, being the only soloist and only girl there performing lol. I have played at local places too such as my old HS WLN battle of the bands, the St. Patricks fair, the Belleville Strawberry Festival, open mic nights at the Blue Note Cafe and Its A Grind Coffee House as well as The Plymouth Coffee Bean!! (the most amazing place ever!!!) ^_^Also, im looking to start a band. if you're interested let me knowThis concludes my crazy long About Me section =P Feel free to message me, and im always open to constructive criticism too.
