Nestled snugly into the lap of southeast Quebec, the French-loving part of Canada, lies the modest town of La Patrie, population 475 and dwindling. The town is overshadowed by the hustle and bustle of bigger cities and bigger dreams but their one claim to fame is the Norman guitar; a fundamental part of the formation of a band whos raw compositions and bona fide lyrics are bound to propel them into superstardom as Canadas newest rock sweethearts to the countrys indie mosaic....
The
Norman Project concept began in
Amherst, Nova Scotia, but it was after lead singer
Nathan Robichaud's grandmother helped him purchase a Norman guitar that he began to embrace the local east coast music scene by performing as a solo artist at acoustic jams while organizing local shows and constantly writing new music.
The dream to pursue a professional career prompted Nathan to relocate to Toronto, where he formed a rock trio. It didnt take long for Torontos rock community to catch the buzz and
Norman Project found themselves with a critically acclaimed album
Red Was Your Colour(2000) and opening slots for bands such as
Nickelback and
Social Distortions Mike Ness.
It wasnt until Nathans brother,
Trevor Robichaud, joined the band that
Norman Project truly began its ascendance to the top. The musical chemistry was further enhanced with bassist
Nick Emeny and drummer
Chad Beaudrie, brother of
Three Days Grace member Brad Walst.
Norman Project's passionate lyrics, intense live performances, unique blend of style, and determination to play music the way they think it should be played is spearheading the domination straight towards a revolution in todays rock. Lots of balls, honesty and feeling, without the pansy crap, self-pity and super drama.
Norman Project is here. Listen up.
