Hey... Yer Here... Don't worry, it'll be painless

About Me

Hmm... well, I'm 24 years old and about to start my last, final, ending semester.... really..... Uhh... but yeah. I go to The University of South Carolina... aka University of Stolen Computers. Still not entirely sure what I wanna be when I grow up... guess I better figure that out sometime soon. Right now something in the legal profession seems interesting... but we'll see...

My Interests

I love good films (see Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange, Coppola's The Godfather, Parts I and II, etc)... Not that crap Hollywood is churning out currewntly. It's funny because the not-so selective American movie crowd isn't turning up for the lastest summer "blockbusters." Maybe there is hope after all.I also spend a lot of time following and watching sports. Football and basketball are my main interests... but being a USC student... well, anyway.... I can stand baseball, as long as it's MLB... that is the only sport that I enjoy professional leagues more than college.... Sorry all you die-hard Yard Birds fans.... September is on its way......

I'd like to meet:

Yeah... I'm definitely not one of those people who are secure enough not be be excited by meeting celebrities.... So anyway, here's a short list:Number 1 would have to be Robert De Niro. I don't know of any other actor who can make you laugh when he's breaking someone's limbs or killing them on-screen. Wait... OK, maybe I'm the one who finds his bit funny, but anyway. The man is the greatest living actor, even if his newer efforts sucked. Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, and The Godfather, Part II moire than make up for his overtly commercial roles in recent times.Second on the liost is our 42nd President, William Jefferson Clinton. Whether you love(d) or hate(d) him, you'll still feel that way until you go to your grave. Anyroad, the guy got us out of Bush 1st's mess, and his administartion was reality TV long before anyone had ever head of "survivor." I didn't like him much when he was in office because most of the people older than me hated him. Funny thing is, all those guys are now losing sleep over what used to be strong stock portfolios. For his adept skill at riding... a good economy.... I give him high marks. If you can't say that you'd enjoy watching a game or grabing a waitresses ass... uhh i mean a meal with him.... well, I wonder what's your deal. Finally, I'll include Dean Smith. While I am no longer a folower of Tar Heel backetball, I still admire the man more than any other coach in any sport. From his early integration of the UNC program to his innovative strategies, Dean did it all with class. I weep for the day that thug Bobby Knight breaks his all-time win record.....Note: No I am not stupid enough not to break this thing up into parahraphs... that's just how Myspace.com wants to play, so whatever.

Music:

There's no doubt that I would never claim to have high tatstes in music. Anyone who knows me will tell you all I listen to is 50 Cent... and, ok... they may be right, but still. I can lsten to couintry sometimes... George Strait is the man. Yeah... someone out there likes Fiddy and George Strait... Other than that, whatever's on the radio works for me... I get enough broadening of my horizons due to my girlfriend being a real, live, walking jukebox. Seriously... there's not a song she doesn't know....

Movies:

Ok... sit back and get comfy.....I get round up into a rant very easily on this topic... so much so that the people who once tolerated my moviers are now starting to tell me what they really thik of my selections.... At any rate... I detest almost everything that I have seen in a theatre in years. The only film which genuinely moved me at the theatre was Forrest Gump, and despite it's good parts... I've since moved on.This really couldn't be any nerdier... but I don't care. It's my own personal top ten films list. If you want to see cinem at it's best... do yourself a favor and run, so do not stroll, walk or skip to the video store and check one or all of them out.A Clockwork Orange- 1971 Schindler's List- 1993 The Godfather Part II- 1974 One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest- 1975 Das Boot- 1981 Full Metal Jacket- 1987 American Beauty- 1999 Miller's Crossing- 1990 Goodfellas- 1990 The Good, the Bad and the Ugly- 1966Yeah... a bit heavy on the gangster and war genres... but trust me... these will make you feel as if your intelligence has been insulted by today's film makers, and hopefully make you think twice before spending another 100 mintutes watching pure trash in the theatre.

Television:

Ever since Seinfeld ended its run in 1998... I haven't really looked forward to a TV show each week, with the exception of Friends for a while... which I don't care for as much anymore. With Jerry & Co gone, network TV has gotten even worse than Hollywood.... at the risk of offending those near and dear to my heart... if you're not watching The Sopranos... you're wasting your time with television, capice?

Books:

Orwell's "1984" is my favorite novel... after reading it as a sophmore in high school I was so impressed with it and it is one of the few things I liked back then that I still enjoy. "Bush on the Couch" is good, too. Scary just howsuch a.... odd? dumb? man can come into the Oval Office

Heroes:

This is the sappy bit... but my dad and brother are my heroes. They don't do anyhting out of the ordinary, save provide for their families and work hard every day. I just hope one day I get to show such love and dedication for the special woman in my life.....
