Okinawa Eisa Drumming!! So cool--I want to do this!!!
...hot Asian boy bands. The last boy band I actually paid attention to was New Kids on the Block back in the late 80's/early 90's. Never cared for NSync or the Backstreet Boys; I thought I was over the whole bubblegum pop thing. Now that I've discovered these ridiculously attractive Asian boys, I feel like I'm in junior high school again.
Japanese pop group Tegomass performing Kiss-Kaerimichi no Love Song. Tegoshi (cutie pie from my background) is so adorable I could just eat him for breakfast. And he can sing! a rarity for Japanese male pop idols Everytime he smiles at the camera (and he grins like a maniac) I feel a bit like Lenny from of mice and men. I just wanna pet him like I would a baby puppy, but I just might squeeze him to death in the process.
ILU Tegonyan! ILU Massu!
This is Tegoshi Yuya from the above video, in a live solo performance of Stars from last year's NEWS concert, and demonstrating why he's the best singer in Johnny's Entertainment. Hello, fedora. Oh, and dig the baton-twirling kid. And the kid doing pirouettes. These people know how to put on a show. Just saying. ^__^
This is Masuda Takahisa from this 1st video, performing Pumpkin live in concert. I know I didn't really need to add another video to this list (this will be the 7th) but I couldn't help it. Massu is just so adorable here; I love the casual-sexy vibe (and slightly suggestive lyrics)! *chu* Tabechaitai yo!
Akanishi and Ueda from Japanese pop group KAT-TUN performing butterfly live on Shounen Club (with Kame introducing). This is a rock song, a departure from their usual bubblegum style, and it is so fantastically awesome. And they speak spanish in this, in addition to Japanese and English! Watch Ueda move his hand up the neck of the guitar about 35 seconds in. It's pretty damn sexy. Kakkoii! *.*
Korean pop group DBSK singing Rising Sun. JaeJoong (nickname Hero, 10-14 seconds into the video) is, like Tegoshi above, is on my list of the cutest boys ever. And quite obviously, he got skillz. ^o^
This is just DBSK fooling around while their song Hug is playing at a radio station, but it is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. Just being silly and singing each other's parts. Again, JaeJoong (boy with black hair in black jacket & cross necklace) is adorable. I love his little kiss in the last three seconds. ^___^
OMG, I had to do one more. Kanjani8 is my new fave, LOL. They are a Japanese group from Osaka, and as such are generally more relaxed, funny, and less superidol-y. This one is called it's my soul. Short shorts! These guys are so crazy. I
He sings, he dances, he drums! Ohkura Tadayoshi in shiny leather pants is quite possibly the prettiest drummer you have ever seen. Drum solo during Kanjani8's Spirits concert. Hot.
Thai pop group Golf & Mike performing fever to future with Japanese pop idol Yamapi, in their little trio called Kitty GYM. This is video is made of crack. Sparkly, futuristic, 70's disco, volleyball-playin' crack. Please, do not judge Yamapi by his clothing (in the middle, with the pimp hat). He's actually quite sane. ^___^ Incidentally, everyone is singing in Japanese.

Not reading anything non-school related right now, but previous favorites include: How I Learned to Snap, anything by David Sedaris or Dan Savage, the Hitchhiker series, Stephen King (natch), Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, the Griffin and Sabine series, and travel writing (as in Michael Palin, Frances Mayes, etc). And those books that were required (sometimes banned) in high school? Read them. They're the best. Brave New World and To Kill a Mockingbird are my favorites.
