Battleground Records stands by one statement and one statement only. “Christ is our source, music is our weapon; this is our battleground.” Every artist and producer associated with Battleground Records lives daily by this creed when in, and when out of the arena we call music. We are proud to say that there are no exceptions at BG. From CEO/Executive Producer Austin Mills a.k.a. “The Wretch”, DOP/Producer Shawn Crockett a.k.a. “Marte” or “The New Paul”, CMO Vincent Reid, Josiah Crockett a.k.a. “The Kure”, Isshiah Crockett a.k.a. “Prodigy”, Temyus Bryant a.k.a. “Xncrypted”, and the rest of the Battleground family. Youth Pastor Billy Witt of Church on the Move in Wellston Ohio said this about BG Records: “We appreciate Battleground Records heart and love for the Kingdom. God is using Battleground to reach this world with the gospel through the world of music.” Battleground Records was founded in February of 2007 as a Gospel Hip-Hop production company. God gave me, Austin Mills, a true wretch among men that had been saved by his grace and mercy, a vision. I saw a group of people set apart and unashamed of the Gospel. Never backing down from speaking the message of truth and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I saw a group of people who would use many forms of music as a tool to present the gospel of Jesus Christ to the masses. Battleground started that day in my living room with Vincent Reid, a laptop, and myself. We later met Shawn, Josiah, and Isshiah Crockett from His Voice Productions as the Lord led them to our hearts at Eagle Rock Church in Pickerington, Ohio. At that point, I truly believe Battleground Records was born. One year later, because of obedience and submission to the Lord, we are four artists deep and moving in the momentum and acceleration of the Lord! Amen. Many of the artists associated with Battleground at one time or another were running in the streets, or at least tried the world’s way of life for a season. Even those of us that grew up in the households of tremendously anointed men and women of the Lord were lead astray at one time for a short season of our lives. However, we are proud to say that now that everyone is safely home. We intend to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Four Corners of the Earth-while giving this generation an alternative to the misleading, and devastating information and entertainment that mainstream media is feeding them. This is our vision for Battleground Records. Battleground Records is being accelerated at a tremendous pace. Currently, we have opportunities to perform all over the Midwest. We will release the solo albums for Vincent Reid and “The Kure” sometime in the fall of 2008. We will also start to work on material for various new artists not listed here, in various genres of music outside of Gospel Hip-Hop. We are also pleased to announce we will start work on a solo album for “Xncrypted”. Let me tell you, the uniqueness of this brother for the Gospel Hip-Hop industry will bless you! At this time, we are truly amazed at what God has done, is doing, and is going to do in our lives. We enjoy the leadership that has been placed in all of our lives. We understand the necessity for guidance and accountability in the life of the believer. We are proud to say that our accountability at this time is to the Senior Pastors of Eagle Rock Church, Pastors Les and Sheila Bowling. We have also been blessed to have council from Young Adults Pastor Kyle Mills, Youth Pastor/Director Ebenezer Penha, as well as, Assistant Director for the Youth, Shawn Crockett. These blessed and empowered men and women of God have been instrumental in the growth of BG Records. Without their love and direction inspired by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we would be truly lost in our battles and obstacles in this world of music.
