About Me

RACE THE FRAY
".......this art will play and we'll be alright"
US
Race The Fray are five kids from Melbourne making art because we like art. We are not overly tough and we're not super cool....but we are honest.
Not a lot of people really care about us but i guess no-one really cares about anything these days.
We're still passionately independent like a teenage runaway.......we make it on our own and we'll make it on our own.
We don't have a lot of money but we do have commitment and obsession.
We are concerned but at the same time optimistic, just like you we get upset when people die.....back-burn us now so then the regrowth can begin.
We play rock and roll but we are not in fashion.
Race The Fray are your typical little, hard working, indie band....too damn ambitious for our own good! Although, in the past we have been fortunate enough to achieve some cool things including:
- One national and three East Coast tours as well as too many weekend interstate jaunts
- Performing on national TV as the house band on ROVE LIVE
- Some of our tracks played on the radio including Rotation on Nova 100, featured as ‘exposed artist’ on triple j plus light rotation on Home and Hosed.
- Distribution of two EPs through MGM (one under the previous moniker "The Fray" before those bastards from the US stole our name!)
- Second EP, This Art Will Play, reached #3 in the AIR charts
- Four film clips screened many times on Rage and other internet/TV media outlets
"Lets take it back to what we started, think of something we all wanted to be, inside the darkness of it all, our fists react to the marching of your feet"
THEM
"....a bold step into world beyond two verses and a catchy chorus. Race The Fray are here to stay and this reviewer is certain that theyve got what it takes to play with the big boys. Indeed, this art will play, and be played!!" Beat Magazine, Review, Sept, 2005.
"These hotly tipped Melbourne rockers have just released an impressive new EP" The Age, Melbourne.
"....and you want to call it pop because they're so good to look at but you know that pop never looks like it hurts that much." Someone I can't remember from somewhere that probably doesn't exist.
"...spiffing." Inpress Magazine, Indie Initiative review, 2006.
