I'm creeping death.

About Me

I would like to start or join a band that sounds awesome with other awesome people who play great.

My Interests

Starting or joining a great band. Playing drums alone or with any ensemble. Listening to and reading about much older music (say...anything recorded between 1920 and 1995), I guess you might call this "musicology". Going camping in Vermont*. Swimming in the ocean*. Rooms full of drumsets. Totally out of touch people that don't even know how rock they are. Long drives*. Thai food*. Coors Original (Banquet). Growing cayenne peppers. --------------------(*with my girlfriend, Emily Porch.)

I'd like to meet:

Other musicians who have an interest in playing high energy music, can navigate a wide variety of styles and tempos, have an overwhelming love for all methods and possible instances of musical expression, are 23 or older, and have a sense of humor.

Music:

Led Zeppelin, George Harrison and The Beatles, anything produced by Jeff Lynne, The Clash, The Kinks, CSNY, CN, S (Manassis), N, Y (and Crazy Horse), Uncle Tupelo, Avail, Plow United, The Minutemen, The Sea and Cake, Shoegazer bands like Chapterhouse and My Bloody Valentine, also Ride, and Catherine Wheel, Jesus and Mary Chain, The Verve, Oasis, Guns 'N Roses. I love The Police. I love the Joe Walsh album called, "But Seriously, Folks", it's total desert rock. Fleetwood Mac is amazing. I'm really into the warm yet dry and crisp sounds of mid seventies recordings. I love Wilco. I kinda like Mastadon. I like The Faces and Early Solo Rod a lot. I Love Morrissey. Love The Pixies. I really like the Sunny Day Real Estate Album, "The Rising Tide" cause it's kind of prog, and I love when things are kind of prog. Yes is amazing (Bruford is a personal hero of mine), Crimson slightly less. I love Dylan and I love The Band, I could listen to The Band non stop all the time and never get sick of them. My first favorite band was Creedence in third grade, then Metallica in sixth grade (still love both of those bands like crazy). Listen to this: I'm not a big Doors fan but I really love John Densmore's playing (you know, that slight swing he lays on everything). If you want, I can tell you the specific fill he plays on LA Woman that first inspired me to play the drums.

Heroes:

John Bonham, Tony Williams, Levon Helm, Bill Bruford, Billy Cobham, Steve Gadd, John McEntire, Rick Considine, George Harrison, Freddie Mercury, Graham Nash.
