Darren Bennett

Born in Stamford Ct., raised in Deerfield Fl. Darren has been singing since the age of 5. He was highly influenced by his father Joseph Bennett, who also sang & made a name for himself in the 50's 60's & 70's Oldies Music genre. Darren also accredits his talent to his mother Barbara who kept him involved in music, bringing him from show to show to watch his father perform. It was at that tender young age that Darren soaked up the gift to perform. However, it wasn't until Darren found God, that he was blessed with the gift to minister. Also, the talent that he inherited from his father, manifested into a high level of anointing from his supernatural Father (Jesus Christ). Darren dedicated his life & was baptized in the Holy Ghost at the age of 16. He served in the praise team & choir at his church leading & assisting in the vocal arrangements of many songs. He then went on to sing in a few quartet groups thru his high school & college years, winning several talent shows with songs that he'd written & composed himself. He then ministered with a gospel ensemble (Distinctive Voices of Praise) Founded by his best friend & brother in Christ, Ernest B. Gonder Jr. Together He & Ernest formulated a sound that took them all over the state of Florida. Darren also wrote & composed many songs for that group. Throughout Darren's walk as a Psalmist, God has opened the door for him to perform before many prominent people such as: (Boxing Promoter) Don King, He was a featured artist on the Terry Crook Show which was aired on Black Entertainment Television. He had the opportunity to open up for Gospel great Betty Wright.... and the list goes on. Currently, Darren is a loving, devoted husband to his beautiful wife Makeda Bennett. He also has 4 children: Marquez, Darionna, Darriale, & Jael, all of who he loves & cherishes. He is currently an unsigned artist who has a vision: To impact the world with the anointing that God has given him. To draw all generations young & old unto the Lord. He also works hand & hand with his wife who operates in the ministry of liturgical dance. As a team they have developed a strong anointing, as Darren sings psalms unto the Lord, his Wife Makeda may at times join him by graciously displaying her God given gift of liturgical dance. You can find Darren on any given Sunday serving the Lord on his Praise & Worship team at The Chapel of Prayer in Miami Fl. Lead by the proficient man of God Dr. Vincent M. McIntyre & his gifted wife Dr. Constance M. McIntyre. Darren is continuously working toward his vision by not just ministering within the 4 walls of his church, but making himself available to anyone who wants to be blessed by the word of God thru the Ministry of song.
