Sounds Like:Rob Bonds, aka Highway, is a song writer who draws inspiration from what can best
be decribed as classic AM radio. Songs from the road and songs of youth and revelation.
Highway is often compared to the likes of Bob Dylan and Cat Stevens. Drawing from
these artists his songs resonate with strong familiarity, yet his stories are somehow
devilishly obscured by words. Picture yourself in a 1974 midnight blue Pontiac Catalina
driving through the desert, a blurry sparkling seemless desert, the birthplace of cowboys
and Tequilla. Black Letters Home is the soundtrack to this unknown adventure.- Highway is backed by a band who should be heard live to believe. Let’s just say, we love
it and they get it. On drums, Paulie Pulvirenti (Elliott Smith), guitar and organ, Nathan
“Jr†Anderson (Mike Coykendall), Bass, Peter Holmstrom (Dandy Warhols), piano and
guitar, William Slater (Grails).
