About Me

The Frisian Black metal band Kjeld started out as a one man project by Kâld, in the year 2004. It’s goal was primarily very simple: write music in the vein of mid 90’s Black metal, and to find session members to complete the line-up. The whole project was put a side for about 3 years due to failing attempts finding the actual right members to do the job.
Around august 2006 Kâld met Tsjuster, who was, like Kâld, busy on a Black metal project on his own. And with him possessing the quality to fill in the leads, would make a promising addition to the band. The two decided to team up to see if their already existing material would fit together as a whole. Surprisingly enough both guitarists’ material fitted to each others satisfaction, and were soon off creating a shit load of quality riffs, and with that, the project became more serious; the band’s backbone unfolds.
A front man was found in Asega (Also in Lugubre). Lyrics will be totally in Frisian language, featuring mainly historical themes as well as Paganism. However...Kjeld does NOT support politics or any politicial bullshit in creating it’s dark art! Kjeld believes that Black metal is a lifestyle. Not some political playground for frustrated kids.
With the coming of black metal mastermind Swerc (known from Gheestenland, Krocht and Winter of Sin) on bass in early 2008, the line-up was completed, creating the final dimension in Kjeld’s music.
Session drummer Foarhammer (Joris Nijenhuis, also in Elexorien & Dr.Doom) will enhance the upcoming demo with his formidable drum skills.
Expect nothing but quality Black metal with melancholic atmospheres, razor sharp aggressive guitar riffing, skull crushing blast beats and ultrafast double bass drums!!
The first upcoming 3 track demo is expected spring 2008. } }
