A Tree in a Field Records is a small independent Label based in Basel, Switzerland. It`s run by a couple of musicians, workaholics and utopists from the local underground scene – that`s us, to be precise.
Even though musically from different backgrounds (hardcore, experimental music and electronica) we found each other likeminded enough to create this platform to release records and organize concerts for even more people like us.
People like us choose to make ingenious homemade music rather than massively expensive productions. People like us also put out records in small quantities, sometimes in beautiful handmade covers. People like us have an almost religious way of making and caring for music, and consider genuinity to be more important than fashion.
In order to spread the music and also to concentrate the budget on few but dedicated vinyl and cd releases, some albums are released as free mp3 downloads.
