December 20th 2006...so we were in the pub. That's
where all the best ideas begin to ferment. Keith
turned up and announced that he had a bit of a do
planned at the Hand and Dagger near Preston on the 9th
February, a charity do called 'singing for someone
else's supper', where musicans from all over the North
West would turn up and literally sing for someone
else's supper, the proceeds going to some hungry folk.
We'd had a few and, although we'd never played
together, suddenly it seemed like getting on stage and
doing some songs would be a good idea, so in the new
year, we set to rehearsing a handful of tunes. We had
four, but on the night so many people wanted to play,
there was only time in our slot to play three of them.
Never mind - the landlord requested we play a full
gig, so in a few months time we had a three hour set
to fill. Hmmm, maybe we could do with a few more
songs, so we started writing; Troubadour was
brewing....
