About Me

"Style is what unites memory or recollection, ideology, sentiment, nostalgia, presentiment... It's not what we say but how we say it that matters."

Wedding pictures will be up as soon as I get good digital copies -- all we have are proofs. So when we get the CD with the pics on it, then I'll put some up! I know it's been taking a while!

Nichole and I are launching our line, OdileOdette. We're currently working on the website, samples, etc. Keep your eyes peeled for us, and make sure to add OdileOdette as a friend!

I designed a dress for a fashion show/competition that benefited The Princess Project. Pics are up, and here's the link for the show:

My Interests

Hanging out, drawing, reading, designing, sewing, fashion shows, historic costume, corsetry, daydreaming, partying, movies, dancing, exploring, old bikes, couture, drinking wine...

I'd like to meet:

Marc Jacobs, Nanette Lepore, Rebecca Taylor, Zac Posen, Tracy Reese, Max Mara, Mr. Pearl, Vivienne Westwood, anyone that has ever worked at Nina Ricci in Paris...

Music:

It changes. At the moment: Sia, Eisley, The Killers, Radiohead, Cat Power, John Legend, Death Cab for Cutie, Muse. Always: Sublime, Better than Ezra, Dido, Led Zeppelin, Ozomatli, Incubus, Counting Crows, Louis Armstrong, Nine Inch Nails, (some) Bob Dylan, Sarah Slean, Foo Fighters... I guess you could say I'm stuck in the 90's.

Movies:

Vertigo, The Indiana Jones Trilogy, The Goonies, Sense and Sensibility, The Big Lebowski, Tipping the Velvet, Flight of the Navigator, Rear Window, Wonder Boys, Edward Scissorhands, Weekend at Bernie's (thanks Kate!), Some Like it Hot... and I'm a sucker for 80's B horror flicks.

Television:

I think the only stuff I'd actually want to watch is on cable, and we're cable-less!

Books:

Anything having to do with dorky costume stuff. Anything Shakespeare. Jane Eyre. King Dork. Augusten Burroughs is the best (Running with Scissors, Dry, Possible Side Effects). I loveloveloved Youth in Revolt and Revolting Youth, and have to find a new book to be infatuated with, though nothing I've found compares to those -- C.D. Payne rocks my world! I love anything Joyce Carol Oates and Ray Bradbury. I have a huge soft spot for In Me Own Words and Me Write Book.

Heroes:

Anyone that's reached out for what they wanted. I'm impressed by people that are happy and have what they desire in life.
