Bond Alternative Wedding Magazine , a quarterly glossy publication focusing on luxury goods, designer fashions and jewelry for couples interested in non-traditional weddings is launching its inaugural issue in Spring 2007. Published by Avanti Ragazzi Publishing LLC, the magazine targets affluent urban couples, including same-sex partners. Bond is currently the first wedding magazine of its kind to target an alternative lifestyle.
For founder and Editor-in-Chief, Lynn Tsutsumi, the idea to initially start a magazine that reflected a more modern aesthetic began three years ago as she was researching her own wedding. "I was disappointed that there was nothing that represented the variety of people-the rich cultures and celebrations-that reflect our demographic," Tsutsumi explained. Her 20 year background in the fashion and luxury industry includes working with Benetton, Dior, Louis Vuitton and other designer labels in Europe, Asia and the US. Contributors hail from all over the world, including style editors in New York, Milan, London and Hong Kong. The pages of Bond will feature models representing all ethnicities and sexual orientations, creating a truly global picture of the modern wedding ceremony. Editorials will focus on designer fashions for women and men, jewelry, destinations, flowers, food, wine, registries and much more.
"Imagine if your favorite design magazine created a wedding publication just for you," said Tsutsumi. "Our focus is on redefining the wedding ceremony through cutting-edge fashion and a tasteful aesthetic. It's a new niche market, but one that is opening up new possibilities especially with the global acceptance of same-sex marriages. We are targeting both straight and gay couples who want their unions to reflect their high sense of fashion and design." The magazine is targeting the luxury and fashion sector for advertisements. Distribution is underway for placement in the following cities: New York, Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Vancouver, Toronto, London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Barcelona, Paris, Milan and Capetown.
