About Me

From the ever depressed and decreasing population of Buffalo, New York, Elektromat seeks to bring new life to it's hometown as well as yours. Formed in late 2002, this five piece has met through singer Chris Lucas in which they were all at one time affectionately called his "disciples," meaning at this time in life, without any apparent or definite direction, they would stay up late most nights listening to music, eating chicken wings, as he would "exchange secrets for encouragement." It was inevitable that they would eventually play music together. They are known for their intense live show where you will hear soaring and haunting vocals along with an energetic rhythm section and effects laden riff-rock guitars with droning keyboards underlying. The costumes they wear reflect the irony of everyday life; with much melancholy life can bring, there is still hope and joy. They describe their music as a blend of many styles including progressive, pop, and new wave in a self coined phrase "80's Euro Trash."
This band is amazing! Go listen to their music!

Sounds Like: "This Buffalo based band has a warm sound... truly a refreshing style of alternative Scottish rock and American midwestrock...well produced and professionally performed. The opening track "Only way" (now called Autobahn) with it's highlandic feel and the most British sounding tune of them all is a fave of mine, I love the synthesizer sweeping through the song - lovely!" -Kaj Roth (melodic.net)

meant to be

This song is called "meant to be." We feel that this is the song that would be our "single" if we ever had one. A long process was involved in the writing of this song, but here it is in a nut-shell.....
