granz is one of Philadelphia’s hottest, up and coming artists .Granz wrote some of his earlier works at an age as young as ten years old. He has been producing songs since 1992 and writing songs even before then. In 1995 Granzand his man Wise Kabar formed a group named P.H.A. and independently released a single “Sunrize” on vinyl ,which sold 1000 copies.Soon after in 1996 P.H.A released another single on vinyl entitled “Don’t Take Time” , which went on to sell 2000 copies.The group dismembered due to creative differences.Granz continued to produce for unsigned artist while also recording songs in his home.In 2004 Granz partnered with fellow Philly M.C. Mr. Brown to form the group collectively known as BNG.BNG recorded an project with N.Y. producer and independent label owner Jay Sarks.The project was entitled “From The Avenue To The Projects”.The project was released on Original Authentic Records and did exceptionally well.Granz has also worked wih producers in the Philadelphia area,that list includes DJ Sat-One, DJ Kwestion, Cimer Amore, Ed Midi, Tastemakers, and a few others. Granz has also rhymed on tracks alongside some of Philadelphias best mcs like Baby Blak, E.S.T., Cipher Born, and Equinox, just to name a few. Granz hasalso recorded on beats provided to him by producers from L.A.(DJ Revolution), Atlanta (Habitt) ,Sweden (Demyo),and Chicago (Lucky Star).Granz has also opened up shows for acts like KRS-ONE, Boot Camp Clik , The Gza, and Jean Gray.Granz has performed at venues such as Grape St. Music Complex, Millcreek Tavern,Silk City and Liquid Charm. Granz has performed at NewYork clubs like The Hook, S.O.B.’s, and Club Nuyorican. Granz was on the Hot Boyz showon Power 99 FM in Phila. In June of 2006. His song “What It Is” was featured as the hometown jam. Granz is also shown working in the studio and rapping in the 2006 QD3 relesed movie /documentary “INFAMY”. Granz is also featured on the soundtrack to “INFAMY.Granz is currently working on a solo project ,while still producing gems for a select few.Granz adopted the moniker General because upon entering rhyme cypher younger mcs exclaim ‘there go the vet.’Granz also states“ General signifies that im charge of my own shit by owning masters,publishing, and copyrights.Im doin it my way now!”
