About Me

"The object of life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, 'Holy Shit, What a Ride!!!'" - Mavis Leyrer
"You cannot stop. If there is a concrete wall in front of you, you have to go through it. You can never, ever give up or even think in terms of giving up." - Donald Trump
This is a page about the Real Dutch - I needed to create a space for me (not for my Santa business) - I want to express my views, tell my stories, talk about my life, and do what I want without worrying about hurting my business.
If you want to learn about my company, acting, etc. - check out my first friend on my list below - Dutch is America's Favorite Santa.
"Take chances. Tell the truth. Date someone totally wrong for you. Say no. Spend all of your cash. Fall in love. Get to know someone random. Be random. Say I love you. Get angry. Be the first to say "I'm sorry." Do something good. Do something bad. Just do something. Scare yourself at least once a day. Sing out loud. Smile often. Dance in front of the mirror. Laugh at a stupid joke. Cry. Get revenge. Tell someone how much they mean to you. Tell an asshole how you really feel. Let someone know what they are missing. Laugh until your stomach hurts. Above all, Live your life."
I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia - in Willow Grove - sort of between Huntingdon Valley and Abington. I went to Abington High School. I volunteered for a few Fire Companies during high school and then after. I got my EMT Certification and worked full time for an ambulance transport company. I worked at two different Police Departments after my ambulance days. It was a lot of fun and I miss the adrenaline rushes and no day was ever the same. The shift work was horrible!
In 1999 I decided to take a step in the opposite direction - corporate life - I started working for a major telecommunication company and learned so much while taking training classes in Ft Lauderdale, Las Vegas, and Kansas Cty - not bad.... I currently work for a very well-known cable company leading a team of IT professionals and my office is in West Chester, Pennsylvania. I am very happy I made the switch to corporate life. I now have a sense of accomplishment, can utilize my leadership abilities, no more shift work, and much better pay...
More about me - I have a 6 year old daughter (who has taken acting classes already) and a 3 year old son. They are both awesome kids! I live in Douglassville, Pennsylvania in a home that I built in 1999 on top of a really big hill. I have awesome 180 degree views of the mountain side. The house is actually for sale right now!!
I really enjoy camping and hiking and try to go as often as I can. I love hiking up at Hawk Mountain in the Kempton area of Pennsylvania and I can be found wandering on the Appalachian Trail often!
While not acting or working, and in my free time, I enjoy spending time with my kids, going on trips, working around the house, target shooting, buying/selling on ebay, and playing Texas Hold'em in local tournaments.
I'm sure all be sharing a lot more than I ever have on future blogs. I look forward to you all leaving comments, advice, and general disturbing things!!
