The Ghoul

Welcome to The Ghoul's crypt!

About Me

I'm a singer/songwriter/musician/producer. Haunted House Productions is a DIY production label dedicated to the promotions of "Human Monster", "Children Of The Night", & any other projects that I'm personally affiliated with. I founded HHP in the fall of 1997.Band History: The Human Monster (Chicago Illinois) - Founded by myself & Creepy Crawly in the spring of 1997. In HM we focused on writing songs about our favorite horror/sci-fi/b-movies. Throughout many line-up changes & special appearances, followed the demise of HM in the spring of 2001.Children Of The Night (Chicago Illinois) - Originally formed as a side project in mid-summer of 2001. This band turned into a spur-of-the-moment type of project with an outcome which was greater than I'd ever expected. This time around I focused more on writing about everyone’s favorite season, & in my eyes the best time of the year… Halloween! So in turn, these songs that I had written during this time period started to hit more of a dark note with anthems of Halloween & folklore. The Ghoul (Inland Northwest) - The song structure is basically same as what I've done in the past, but now has a more modern new-age rock & roll vibe to it. With a style that's mostly compared with a punk/horror/ghoul-a-billy/high energy rock & roll essence to it. The easiest way to explain my approach is by taking the vintage style of Elvis Presley, the high energy of The Ramones, & the gothic feel of classic Universal horror films, & throwing them all into a boiling cauldron...

My Interests

Horror/Sci-Fi Films, Monster Mags, Comic Books, & High Energy Punk/Rock & Roll.

I'd like to meet:

Fiends with the same intrests & passions that I have for classic horror films, comics, music & art.

Television:

I really enjoyed watching re-runs of The Munsters & The Addam's Family as a child. In Chicago, where I grew up, we had a late night horror movie host named Svengoolie. Sven used to air a lot of b-films on his Saturday night television show, to which I was a faithful watcher! I'm a fan of Sid & Marty Krofft sitcoms such as; H.R. Pufnstuf, The Bugaloos, Lidsville, Land Of The Lost, & Sigmund & The Sea Monsters. I also grew up watching Jim Henson productions like; The Muppets, Sesame St., The Dark Crystal, & Labyrinth. I remember being facinated with Rankin & Bass animatics like; Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town, Frosty the Snowman, & Mad Monster Party. I've also been a cartoon-a-holic since as far as I can remember, to which some of my youth favorites were; many Hanna Barbera classics like... Scooby Doo, Wacky Races, Dingbat & The Creeps, The Groovie Ghoulies, The Flinstones, The Jetsons, Mightor & The Herculoids, Space Ghost, Birdman, & many more. Up to date, I'm into alot of Matt Groening stuff like; Life In Hell, The Simpsons, & Futurama. I also dig on Batman "The Animated Series", Spongebob Squarepants, & Cartoon Network's "The Grim Adventures Of Billy & Mandy". Oh yeah... DOG "The Bounty Hunter" is a bad ass! I also like the new VH1 program "Hogan Know's Best", but that's about the closest I get to (reality T.V.).

Books:

I take personal interest in vast titles that delve into many spiritual aspects... to which I believe all topics to be part of human culture & history... some of my favorite topics being Astrology, & Mythology... & in these certain topics, I enjoy reading the work of such publicists as; Lynda Goodman, & Joseph Campbell. I've also read a lot of Stephen King novels, but some of my personal favorites by this author would include: Carrie, The Shining, Christine, Cujo, Misery, & Tommy Knockers. I have been known to be what the masses refer to as a "comic book geek" as well. Some of my favorite comic book characters include: Wolverine, Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, Warlock, Morbius "The Living Vampire", Bat Man, Swamp Thing, The Demon, Lobo, Spawn, Savage Dragon, Evil Ernie, & Lady Death.

Heroes:

Men that I have seen become successful in their musical careers, such as: Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Glenn Danzig, & Rob Zombie.
