He started off playing drums in his local church and playing in jazz and concert ensembles in high school. Since 2001, he has made the transition from trained musician to beat maker extraordinaire. After putting a rap career aside, he decided to focus all his effots on beat making and producing. In his short time producing he has produced close to three albums and is constantly in the studio banging out tracks for the masses. In 2002 he teamed up with neighborhood friend Don Dirt who had recently founded RAK ent. With Detroit Rapper Rob-G and began to produce the highly anticipated Bold album. Since completion of the Bold album Smitty Soul has not stopped producing, he recently produced several fiery tracks for the Rock Da House Entertainment Album A Trip Down Woodward Ave compilation .
