LIL MISS

THE CHRONICLES OF A YOUNG WOMAN COMING SOON!

About Me

Lil’ who? This is a common question many people may ask due to the numerous rappers possessing the prefix Lil'. But 17 year old rapping nemesis Lil’ Miss is here to save the day.
Not depending on a gimmick such as most teenage rappers, Lil' Miss posses numerous abilities which include rap, dance, and step. With her lyrical anthems geared towards all ages, Lil’ Miss shows the world that teenagers go through difficult life experiences and lessons as well. "I want to be known for the young, female rapper that gave people something real to listen to. I want them to relate to my music. I don't want to be known for the girl who created that dance song for lip gloss or chicken noddle soup. I give it to those young females who are in the game now, but I want to bring something different to the table."
Coming from the 3rd Avenue, Boston Road section of the Bronx, Lil’ Miss born Champagnae Smith began rapping at the age of 12. "Music has been apart of my life for a long time", says Miss. "I always loved to dance in the mirror and write rhymes to the hottest beats out at the time, but I really recognized my love for rapping after my step father built a music studio in our home in the Bronx and started Tributary Records. I couldn’t wait for the moment to be in the booth. I would listen to the beats my step brother and his friends would make and write rhymes to them. Then they would let me record them. At the end of my first month of recording I had about four full songs recorded. Although I took a break from rapping for awhile, I knew in my heart that this was something I loved and wanted to do."
In 2005 after a break from the rap game and pursing her dream of being a female lyricist, Lil' Miss joined a step team in the Bronx called the PLAYERS CLUB where she met Ed "Playboy" Nelson, co-host of MBK Radio, back-up stepper for Alicia Keys, founder of PLAYERS CLUB ENT., and President of H.I.T.M. Productions. Because of Miss' love of stepping and Playboy's vision and musical interest in Miss, she again picked up from where she left off and started recording. Lil' Miss shocked Playboy’s music partners and many others by recording four songs in a week while keeping school a priority. Lil’ Miss maintained straight A's at Cathedral High School in Manhattan, an all-girls college preparatory school. "In '05 I was at a better time in my life for rapping- more life experiences, more support, and a better understanding of the game.
Although Lil' Miss' music contains the life experiences of her and other teenagers, her topics can appeal to all age groups. Known as the “Superwoman of the Rap Game”, Miss proves to be the long awaited female rapper to save the Bronx, the birthplace of hip hop, and put it back on the map. With her debut album "The Chronicles of a Young Woman" listeners will be able to party, vibe, and sometimes cry to feel-good music. So the next time you hear the name Lil' Miss you will know the difference from all the rest, a talented and young female artist ON HER WAY TO STARDOM.
