I figured that it's about time to update my "About Me" section since a lot has changed for me the past few months. For starters I got accepted regionally for the internship for Africa, which means I have about a 99% chance of getting to go, I will hear the official word by the end of December... I will keep everyone updated. I will be working at an orphanage in Ethiopia teaching English, and other basic classes to the children there. I am really excited to see what will come of my life this next year, it would be an amazing experience, so i'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Let's see other than the news on Africa, I met the man of my dreams, unfortunately he is stationed in Texas, but i've never been happier in my life, so i'm determined to make a little distance work.. it's hard missing someone you care so much about everyday, but it will make the visits that much better.
In general about me, I am a small town girl, that came out of Lebanon, Oregon- I have been in Eugene the past few years working on my Associate's Degree, to transfer into a University to study Elementary Education. I know that I want to be a second grade teacher, but my path to get there is still open. Depending on how my intership plays out for Africa will determine the next few years of my life. I am really just a down to earth kind of girl, who loves to have fun, and go out with my buds, but staying around my house or going on a random adventure is just as good to me. I don't consider myself to be the wild one of the group, I like to have a good time, but I also have big plans for my life, and i'm pretty focused on what I want to accomplish in my life right now. I'm young, and it's exciting to see where I might go... I really love to travel, most of my family is from Denmark, and I made a long trip out there last summer, it's definitely in my plans to head back when I can. It's amazing to see the world from anothers perspective, it makes you appreciate what you have in your own life..
My family and friends are huge to me, and they all know it.. I would do absolutely ANYTHING for any one of them.. i'm a lucky girl, who's life is unpredictable, and that's what makes it exciting... my life is short, I want to make the most of it!! polka layout @ HOT FreeLayouts.com
