Hello my name is Christene I'm married to a wonderful man named Steven. we were highschool sweethearts we've been together 14 years married almost 7. We have a beautiful son Pierce who was born 7/2/02. Pierce had a bit of a rocky start in life he is a little fighter he has been through so very much. My water broke at 7 months on july 1st. I did not have one single pain Pierce must have changed his mind because my labor was induced july 2nd late afternoon still no pain... Anyways... when Pierce was born he had white = cornsilk color hair and was tiny he weighed 3 pounds 8.4 ounces. Pierce stayed in the hospital 11 days thats how long it took him to nipple on his own. At 2 months Pierce had so much going on he was put in the hospital with the high blood-pressure of an adult.we have struggled with this for almost 5 years it is under control now thanks to 4 differnt b-p meds we finally have one that works well for Pierce. Also at 2 months pierce had hernia surgery for a double hernia. We also found out that month that pierce had a really lound heart murmer and was sent to a cardio - child care specialist who suggested williams syndrome. we were told early on at that visit pierce needed heart surgery but they said he had to gain some weight. Two weeks after Pierce's 1st birthday he had surgery to repair - 1.) Supravalvular Aortic Stenosis 2.) Atrial septal defect (ASD) 3.) Patent foramen ovale he had to stay in the hospital 8 days but that was due to his blood-pressure. Pierce was genetically tested and it was positive he has williams. williams syndrome is a rare genetic disorder it occurs in 1 in 20,000 births. Currently Pierce is doing great still the pickiest eater I know but we're working on it. Pierce has started pre-school for 30 min one day a week just with his teacher he also recieves speach therapy - occupation therapy -physical therapy. He will start kindergarten in the fall. He is the sweetest soul I know. I have learned so much from him. He's ma-ma's baby & daddy's boy!
