The best book ever written would probably be (imo) MOBY DICK. I have always enjoyed all the classic adventure literature as well, TREASURE ISLAND etc... A great love of mine are the Swedish crime writers from Sjöwall/Wahlöö over Henning Mankell to Ake Edvardsson. I read History Books for leisure, mostly about German history of all eras. I have to mention the dystopian classics here: 1984, FAHRENHEIT 451, BRAVE NEW WORLD (the best). English language authors: T.C. Boyle, Bill Bryson, David Sedaris, David Lodge, early Nick Hornby. In German language there are too many to mention.
