About Me
JUMPSHIP formed in the late Summer of 2003. AJ Wolf (guitar) wanted to get back to his roots playing hardcore/punkrock in the spirit of 1985. Motivation was really the key. Daniel Bishop Ginsburg was appointed to sing, though he never had done anything musical before, he had the attitude. Tom Sullivan was then recruited to play drums. Adam Berardo (1Adam12) though an avid guitar player recruited to play Bass, and Frank Sarno on guitar. We were originally called Category Five, though that name was taken, from an old joke we became JUMPSHIP. Rumors are another Jumpship may exist as well, but we are the original. We are from the Atlantic City New Jersey area, everyone in the band surfs, skates, snowboards and although musical taste varied and are ecclectic, punk rock was in the blood. We recorded and released a self entitled CD which contains 8 songs and have played primarily in the South Jersey area. We thank our friends and families for their support, Le Grang Fromage, Bruce Beach and Electric Sunglasses, Hot Rod Tattoo, and Center City Sports. Unfortunatelly, 1Adam12 chose to leave the band to pursue other musical avenues and his replacement is Steve Morrison on Bass, true to our roots he also surfs.Chapter 3: Finally after 6 months of not having a place to practice, Buffy from Hot Rod Tattoo came through.....much thanks from the entire band for a place to practice. In addition, we have our third and new Bass Player, hopefully the last, Aaron Jamison, aka "A5" who just played his first show with us, Halloween, 10/30/05....he fucking rocked. Welcome aboard. He also surfs, skates and snowboards.Chapter 4 (December 2005): YOU CAN'T SINK THIS FUCKING SHIP!!!!!!! Frank Sarno resigns, the pressures of pending father hood become crippling to his psyche and he caves in. Aaron Jamison also parted from the ship, creative differences. So, The Ginz, T-bag, and Germ weathered out the storm of change, adjusted the sails, said fuck it, this ship sails on. Try outs began (January 2006) and to our fortune, with the demise of Seige Engine, Andrew Leffel, AKA "The Big Man" (he doesn't surf, skate, or snowboard, but can play that fucking guitar) is now playing guitar, and James "Sensei" Lee (surfs), formerly from The Surf Zombies and Popular Cavemen is now playing bass. Rehearsals have gone very well and both have brought great energy and pressence to the ship. Should be ready to play out in another month and record our follow up CD by the close of Sring 2006.
CHAPTER 5 The ship can't be sunk, but sometimes the pirates on board resign, walk the plank, or more simply things are not working out for a multitude of possible reasons. JUMPSHIP is now a 4 piece, Ginz on vocals, Tommy T-bags on drums, Sensei on bass, and Agerm on guitar. Immediate plans are to get back into the studio and with a little luck and money we will be releasing a new cd come spring. Talk on the street is that Jerry "Nipplecleat" Johnson may be adding some guitar tracks on the up-in coming CD.
CHAPTER 6 Still looking for a bass player and need to get up to WHY ME recording studio to finish vocals and mix. Planning a 10 day Summer Tour, end of July 2007 despite not having a bass player.
CHAPTER 7: Bass Player found, Jamie Narkunski...you know that front man from GUERILLA MASK is now playing bass and did the layout and design for our NEW RELEASE on CHAMPIONSHIP RECORDS entitled "DELUSIONS, ATTACHMENTS & PAIN." Jerry Johnson played lead guitar briefly before completely falling off the planet. Our 12 day tour is booked, some dates have fallen through, but we leave 7/19/07.
CHAPTER 8: For a brief period Jamie Narkunski moved to second guitar and ex BUBBLED EYED DOG BOY, Rod Carty stepped in to play bass and what an addition he has become. We went back to a 4 piece and have half of our next CD written, hopefully will begin recording if Fall 2008/Winter 2009 with hopes that Chuck Treece from McRad will be producing the next CD. Stay tuned, check our schedule, filled with shows for Summer/Fall 2008.
