There was madness in any direction, at any hour

About Me

"I hold a beast, an angel and a madman in me, and my inquiry is as to their working, and my problem is their subjugation and victory, downthrow and upheaval, and my effort is their self-expression."-Dylan Thomas) I'm a narcissist breaking standard definitions. I'm an inconsistent little shit sometimes. I love to write, cook, drink, see old movies I've never seen before. I love graveyards and old houses, new cities, finding new music...I'm discontent with the usual substance of life...I have a lot of things to learn, and a lot I want to learn, I'm in love with my books, I want to travel, I have a violent desire to visit Spain, I want to be a published writer. I love sharks and I want one. I love records, I hate the cold. I have an inherent sense of honesty and defiance. I'm addicted to lip gloss. I drink a lot. I enjoy solitude. I honestly think I'd lose my mind if I didn't get regular time to be alone. I'm loyal to my few favorite people. I'm goofy, cynical, open-minded, stubborn. I'm basically a laid back person, but I also have a tendency to get piss-faced about random things. I'm fascinated by duality. I love Goodwill and cheap record stores. Random thrift shops and vintage stores. I lust after decent live music, green eyes, good beer, warm weather and new lip gloss. Furthermore, I want to play the drums. I want to own and gorgeously ride a motorcycle. I want to travel. "You'd better take care of me, Lord! If not, you'll have ME on your hands." -Hunter S. Thompson. I've abandoned my ache for some utopian idea of content, and I am now glad to be young and decent looking with an ever-racing mind and a lust for new experiences and independence. All I want is to write, travel, and milk every second I can get out of my youth, emerging wise enough or level-headed enough to stop being vain when I get older. I have a youth complex. I enjoy the cocoon of my life sometimes, and every couple of months someone else's outlook on life or on my perceptions startles me and shakes me out of myself. I consider this a good thing, usually, even if my intial reaction is to be defiant. I also have a strong sense of self and there are many things about myself that probably won't change, and I'm okay with this; even if they are "flaws".I consistently disappoint and surprise myself, and I think I'm well-rounded but ripe for new perceptions. I enjoy an occasional upheaval. It makes me think, and when everything settles I'm a brighter person. "I will not be just a tourist in the world of images, just watching images passing by which I cannot live in, make love to, possess as permanent sources of joy and ecstasy." -Anais Nin. I fucking love that statement, it's how I feel. It's an incredibly attractive ache. I want new experiences always. Observation, reflection, change, truth. ____________________________________________________________ __

My Interests

Unconventional lust- For life, experience, exception. Finding satisfaction in uproar; it allows for exquisite revelations and self-reflection. Philosophy, introspect, knowledge, new perspectives, travel, books, drink, film, writing, music, records, independence, solitude, cooking..... "Be hopeless, but without despair." -Henry Miller___"How many times undone can one person be, as they're careening through the facade of their favorite fantasy?" -Ani DiFranco. I am in love with Hunter S. Thompson. "All my life, my heart has sought something that I cannot name." -quoted by Thompson from a long-forgotten poem he once read. "Great is the hand that holds dominion over man by a scribbled name." -Dylan Thomas. "When we blindly adopt a religion, a political system, a literary dogma, we become automatons. We cease to grow." -Anais Nin. "The mark of an educated mind is the ability to entertain an idea without accepting it" -Aristotle, "...Different people want different things in this world, and you have to be careful about taking risks. Hungry people have the cunning of wild beasts. A thing that seemed strange and wrong yesterday can seem perfectly reasonable tomorrow, or visa versa." -Hunter S. Thompson, Kingdom of Fear. And one final Thompson quote: "No man is so foolish but he may sometimes give another good counsel, and no man so wise that he may not easily err if he takes no other counsel than his own. He that is taught only by himself has a fool for a master."---"Old George Orwell got it backward. Big Brother isn't watching. He's singing and dancing. He's pulling rabbits out of a hat. Big Brother's busy holding your attention every moment you're awake. He's making sure you're always distracted..." -Lullaby, Chuck Palahnuik.."the problem with beauty is that it's like being born rich and getting poorer." -Joan Collins.
