About Me
Alexa Brinkschulte was born in Bremen, Germany, and didn’t start playing the drums until the age of 17. Just 2 weeks after her first lesson, she started performing and recording with the rock band "Noise of Destiny", gaining lots of experience. In the summer of 1999 Alexa was featured on german national television and in local newspapers as a young drummer with extraordinary talent. Shortly after, she moved to the United States to attend the Los Angeles Music Academy in Pasadena, CA, where she studied under the guidance of some of the world’s best drummers. After finishing the intense one-year-program, Alexa realized she had the desire to expand her musical background even more and enrolled at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, where she started her studies in September 2000. While at Berklee, she performed and recorded with numerous artists in all styles, performed twice at the renowned Berklee Performance Center as well as the United Nations Ceremony at the Boston State House. Alexa graduated in December of 2003 with a BA in Professional Music and immediately moved to Los Angeles to get her professional career started. She has performed at the famous Kodak Theatre for the Chinese New Year Ceremony, which was broadcast to millions of viewers in China, and recorded, gigged and toured with the rock group ’Kubist Hall’. She has also been a percussionst/drummer for MASSensemble, a theatrical performance group that utilizes musicians, one-of-a-kind instruments and dancers. With this group, she performed for Bill Gates at his annual convention in Houston, TX and for IBM Partnerworld at the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas, NV in front of 5000 people.
Currently, Alexa is performing with singer/songwriter Sacha Sacket, who is signed to Golden Sphinx Records, touring all over the Western US. She is also working as a freelance drummer, performing and recording for several bands in and around Los Angeles. On top of that, she has been teaching drumset independently for the past 4 years, and is part of the teaching staff at ’Alhambra School of Music’ and ’California College of Music’.
