Hello, my name is Da Vida. I have created this space with black women in mind. As a black woman, I am personally fed up with Hollywood's constant stereotyping of African American women in film. Please understand that this site is not prejudicial in any way. I am a fan of many actresses of all races. However I am tired of wondering why Vivica Fox, Nia Long, Gabrielle Union, Meagan Goode and numerous beautiful and extremely talented black actresses are not being cast in roles where they can just play a good role,( and not just the "black roles"!) Black actresses have come a long way, yes. However, in my opinion, not far enough! The roles that continuously go to Jessica Biel, Scarlet Johansson and Kirsten Dunst need to start going to black actresses as well. Come on Sista's! Wouldn't you like to see Vivica Fox have a love scene with George Clooney, or Brad Pitt or Matt Damon? Hollywood will not do it, not until we speak up and demand non stereotypical roles.
