I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

To all you old friends who are finding me on the myspace, or new friends that I've just met, here's a snapshot since high school: Went to the Air Force Academy, played baseball there for 4 years. Got to travel the states playing against some great teams and guys who are now in the majors. (Unfortunately I'm not playing for the Dodgers right now, but I've had a sweet last decade). I got commissioned in the Air Force after graduation and served six years active duty, all done out here in Southern California. Not sure how I worked that out, but it pays to play the system. During that time I got my masters in Political Science, built a house with my dad, and met a wonderful girl who I decided to marry. No kids yet, but hopefully coming soon. We've done a lot of traveling in the last few years, and been to a bunch of cool countries. A few years ago I decided I wanted to teach, so I got a job teaching 7th grade life science. It a great job, and my personality fits real well with that age group. One of the added perks is that I have 4 months off every year...which is great! I started by own business as a distributor for Kyani International, a company that created two of the best all natural health supplements on the market! Check out my website www.mykyanilife.com/sonje for more info. I also stayed in the Air Force Reserves so I still do that. But the time really allows me to keep playing music, which has become my passion since college. I picked up the drums about 6 years ago and have been rockin' ever since. I play in a band called West Rd and have a great time performing, creating, and recording music. Along the way I've had events and people really shape my life, and have been blessed with so many things. I'm very positive, especially with my outlook on life, I'm very patriotic and I love my country, and I love life! Over the years I've compiled a list of what I believe...here are a few:Personal responsibility - quit blaming everyone else for your problems-----Love - love others, love yourself, love life-----Life is important - value your life, value others, and don't kill innocent babies-----There is a God - life would be pretty meaningless if this was it, plus, I'd rather believe in God and find out after I die that there isn't one, then not believe in God and find out in the afterlife that there is-----Looking good - everyone is beautiful to someone, be their supermodel----- Settling for mediocrity - you can always be better than you are today-----Lower taxes (for everyone) - our government wastes my hard earned money; I'm sick of giving it to them-----Be well rounded - learn as much as you can about as much as your can-----There's no such thing as a glass ceiling - you can achieve anything-----Be positive - negativity hinders growth-----Drum Machines have no soul-----The Los Angeles Dodgers are the greatest sports team ever!-----West Rd will bring music back to the radio!-----

I like most types of music. I can't listen to country for that long, but I do like Deirdre Hughes (sweet voice). I definitely don't like music that sings, talks, or raps about hookers, hoes, bitches, n-word, killing people, doing drugs, etc. My favorite bands are: West Rd (www.myspace.com/westrd), Blink 182, Angels and Airwaves, Dave Mathew's Band, Face to Face, New Found Glory, Led Zeplin and a lot of other Classic Rock bands.
