Acting, theatre, film, books, guitar, bad coffee, games, science.
I'd like to meet:
Other actors, directors, writers. Anyone who loves theatre.
Music:
Currently into: The Avett Brothers, The Decemberists, Death Cab for Cutie, The New Pornographers, The Raconteurs, The White Stripes, MF Doom, The D, Jenny Lewis, Rilo Kiley, Wolfmother, Spoon, Milton, Levy...
And Cash. Always Cash.
Movies:
My favourite genre is the "caper flick." The Sting, Sneakers, Ocean's Eleven, The Inside Man. Love anything by Kurosawa; Seven Samurai is probably perfect.
Star Wars (original trilogy and that one scene in Attack of the Clones where Yoda kicks ass), The Good The Bad and The Ugly, The Bridge on the River Kwai, Drunken Master (I and II), The Pianist, Office Space, Brick, African Queen, Maltese Falcon, No Country For Old Men.
Television:
House, The Office, Ugly Betty, LOST (although probably not for much longer), Battlestar Galactica.
And I've been watching a ton of COPS lately. GREAT for character-work ideas!
Books:
The Road is absolutely the most incredible thing I've read. I wish it wasn't an "Oprah Book of the Month" because I feel that somehow diminishes how amazing this book really is.
Still Life With Woodpecker, The Great Bridge, Fight Club, The Terror, The Constitution of the United States of America... I'll have to come back to this.
Playwrights: Pinter, Williams, Chekhov, Shepard, Shakespeare, Miller, Shaw, Stoppard.
Heroes:
Actors whom I admire: Daniel Day-Lewis, Gary Oldman, Johnny Depp, Edward Norton, T. Ryder Smith, Clint Eastwood, Alec Guinness, Judi Dench, Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, William Hurt, Cherry Jones, Kathleen Chalfant.
Other personal heroes: Thomas Jefferson, Washington Roebling, Han Solo, Yoda, The Man With No Name, Grammar Girl.
Also, Terry Schreiber is someone I feel thankful for being in my life.
And of course, the P.G.O.A.T., Shelley Ray.
