Dream as if you'll live forever....Live as if you'll die today. ~James Dean

About Me

My children have encouraged me to get involved in the Myspace phenomenon to keep in touch with friends and make new ones so here I am (and I'm happy that I'm able to do so). I am an ovarian cancer survivor since January 25, 2006. I currently live with my husband and my elderly mother in Weddington, NC but have plans in the near future to move to Gainesville, GA to be closer to my children and grandchildren. I graduated from Charlotte Business College in 1966 and I was a career employee with the NC Department of Motor Vehicles for 24 years. After many years I was promoted to a supervisory position and maintained that position until I was forced into retirement due to my illness in 2005. I enjoy traveling to the coast, going to yard sales, looking for antiques and collectibles and am looking forward to a trip to Orlando this summer to visit my life-long best friend, Diane. I'm a firm believer in Christ and know without a doubt that I wouldn't be here today without Him.

My Interests

Heroes:

My Mother - Jean, because she raised me and my brother as a single parent in the late 40's, 50's and early 60's and now as a parent myself, I realize how much she had to sacrifice in order to raise us.
My Husband - Billy, because he's my soulmate. We've been married for 38 years. He's the most loving, kind, gentle soul that I know. I've always loved him but I fell in love with him all over again when he took such good care of me during my treatment for ovarian cancer.
My daughter - Jennifer, even though there were some trying times during her teenage years, I always knew she'd make a wonderful adult, and that she has. She's a single mother of my two beautiful granddaughters, Kalyn and Anna. She's a nurse, and has a beautiful home. I admire her so much because she's doing something that I know that I never could have done on my own.
My son - Jason, who has given me the most precious grandson, Wyatt. He's happily married and owns a successful business. I admire him so much because starting his own business is something that I would have never had the courage to attempt to do myself.
