Levi Soto
A versatile and very committed musician who’s trajectory can be traced as far back as the 80’s. Since his first drum lesson, he's been beating the drums on and off for the last 23 years. As many other percussionist in the making Levi used to take household pots and pans and bang on them accompanied by his Grandfather on the guitar and Grandmother singing mainly gospels. At first he joined his local church group followed by a recommendation of his Grandmother. Noticing some talent, his mother and father decided it was time for some direction in the form of drum lessons. At a very young age, influenced by the radio music at the time he started developing attraction for styles like Pop Rock, Hard Rock, Rock N Roll and Metal music, styles that had major influences in his carrier. Years latter he received a gift in the form of a tape that would change his musical career for ever. After some period of hibernation from the drum set, one day listening to this tape as he walked to school the greatest idea came to his mind, is time to play rock n roll. Some months later he was invited to a friend's rehearsal for the band "Hysteria" which gave him a chance to cooperate as a band roadie. Always learning new songs and practicing his instrument, Levi was offered to be the drummer of the band after a forced break up. This incident started a professional musical career that has lasted ever since. He sought more training in various music schools and summer camps. Among them the Puerto Rican Music Conservatory in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico and a one on one session with the renown Jose Pepe Jimenez (whos career includes working for Ednita Nasario, Jorge Lavoi, Glen Monrroig, Luna, Olga Tañon, and currently can be seen in Las Vegas with the show Mama Mia and Criss Angel, among many others). Through the years Levi’s skills develop in many music styles forming part of many band line-ups ranging from Speed Metal, Jazz, Salsa and Latin Jazz, Ska, Classic Rock, Blues, Hard Rock to mention just a few. Among them was: Efil, Raza India, Jerry and The Cadillac's, Los Naborias, Victor Payano Jazz Project, Wito Rodriguez and Salsa Swing (formerly known as "Conexion Latina"), Giro Caribe, Thunder head, Live Wire, Signal 22 among others. His trajectory and development can be researched throughout his involvement in various compilation CD's which can be searched via internet, like Puro Eskañol performing with "Los Naborias"- Estoy de Lao and 100% Coqui Rock with "Los Naborias" - Punto Final. Other recordings can be found through his my space page: www.myspace.com/levileesoto. The reliability, talent, responsibility and dedication are characteristics prevalent and verifiable in this talented musician, accentuated by a vast knowledge of his instrument, this is sure to impress many and delight all.
