DJ Sneek, a.k.a. Brent Dotson, has performed all over the country including Washington DC, New York City, and Montreal Canada for the past nine years. As a founding member of the world renowned DJ crew The Trooperz ( 2003 Scene Magazine's DJ Crew of the Year), Sneek built his technical skills on the turntables in the battle DJ circuit. After which retiring from the battle circuit back in 1999, he became one of the most innovative and entertaining party rockers in the Northern Virginia and DC area. His delivery of mainstream favorites mixed with all-time club hits left crowds wanting more and more.
During the summer of 1999 in Charlottesville VA, he partnered with long time friend, DJ Farzad and co-created a monthly party called Club Vital for the University of Virginia college crowd. Four years later, Sneek was still performing at what proved to be the most successful party in UVA's history. It attracted thousands of students from multiple schools and was published as the #1 party at UVA in Tommy Hilfiger's 2001 College Planner.
After returning to the Washington DC area in 2001, Sneek established a residency at Bridges Nightclub where he could be heard for the next four years every weekend spinning the best hip hop, reggae, and top 40. He continued to perform in venues from Montreal down to Washington D.C. including performances at Club Sonar (ranked #1 new club in America by URB Magazine Nov. 2002 issue) in Baltimore MD. He also made guest appearances at Club Avenue, Dream, LeftBank, D.C. Live,2K9, and Bohemian Caverns, to name a few.
In 2003 Sneek performed at SRG's Cinco De Mayo Festival. The annual event boasts the largest turnout of party goers in the Northern Virginia area. Over the following summer, car enthusiasts from around the globe gathered in Reston VA for the annual 2003 Import Heat Car Show. Sneek entertained the masses throughout the night at the official after party.
In November 2005 DJ Sneek was chosen by Scratch Academy of New York to host Marlboro's 25th Anniversary party at Alley Katz in Richmond VA. He was honored to spin sets between performances by Lenny Kravitz, John Mellencamp, Kenny Chesney, and Aerosmith live via satellite.
With his unique ability to mix a wide variety of music into a seamless night of entertainment, Sneek has transpired into the next generation of turntablists in which the DJ is not just playing songs but rather performing for an audience of listeners. For bookings contact [email protected].
