most people attack the sea, I make love to it.
I'll know when I meet them
These two albums are it for me right now, both brilliant, fully realized albums from beginning to end and both devastating in their own way. Black Sabbath is the best band ever created by this universe. I find myself listening to alot of old Deep Purple and Yes. Ennio Morricone, Astor Piazzola, Wojciech Kilar and Anouar Braem are regular listens when I don't want to subject my ears to the human voice. Amon Tobin and DJ Shadow get taken for a spin quite a bit, too. Realized how utterly twisted and bad-ass Deathspell Omega's "Kenose" really is and now can't stop listening to it. Blut Aus Nord is a staple. I just got Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin On ?" and "Superfly" by Curtis Mayfield and am seriously digging on them. Middian and Intronaut, to me, are the two best new U.S. bands doing their thing right now. Been rockin' out to "Rebel Yell" by Billy Idol... Steve Stevens guitar texturing rules on that one. Randy Rhoad's guitar work on "Dairy Of a Madman" is constant inspiration for me.
