artsy girls who don't border on the flaky..cute, insouciant techno making geeks, adventurers, creatives...philosophers..the mysterious...people who think outside the box...animal lovers...nature worshippers...those who understand the meaning of hegemony...and...um...those who know that Charles and Ray Eames weren't brothers!
EDIT: OKAY so fuck all of the other music on this list - I have just heard Marco Corola on Fabric and I think I have just found God.
Right now I'm listening to a lot of Trentemoller, The Knife, Wighnomy Brothers, Martin Landsky...also Swayzak on Fabric and Live at London Express and Plan B... Dan Bell, Live at Digital Gadget, Bodycode,Steve Bug Bugnology and some live set, noah pred live at hz....also some live sets of adam marshall and jeff milligan, neil/naw, akufen, robag wruhme, john tejada, sutekh...um...I also like the Debussy solo piano pieces, the Bach cello suites as well as solo piano and the St. John Passion, some Nick Drake I have no idea what the name is, Simon & Garfunkel, especially The Only Living Boy in New York..I think my fave song of all time and maybe their best song ever?? Most recently Neko Case...Fox Confessor..I never ever grow tired of this woman's music especially "Things that Scare Me" oh my god.
My two faves are The Sheltering Sky and In the Mood for Love. I also really liked The Dreamers and The Unbearable Lightness of Being.
EDIT: I just watched C.R.A.Z.Y and I think its my new favourite movie. So pleasing in every way. Oh and Nacho Libre was one of the most aesthetically pleasing movies I have ever seen though I didn't think it was that funny..just very pretty to look at.
I used to like Six Feet Under....sigh. I hate television. Don't get me started.
I don't read a lot of fiction these days...World Changing..one of the most beautiful books to come out recently. Also, I just bought the new Type Director's Annual and another one called "Fingerprint". Awesome. Um I am currently trying to read "The Elements of Typographic Style" by Robert Bringhurst with great difficulty. A tomb of letters and quite boring, if you must know. I also just bought a copy of Necessary Illusions which I will read when I feel more positive about the world we live in..in other words..never? I also have a copy of Free Culture on my nightstand, when I will finish it, no one knows. Culture Jam by Halle Lasn...awesome book though I hate that term culture jam. Authors/writers I love...Banana Yoshimoto, Haruki Murakami, May Sarton, Naomi Klein, Noam Chomsky, Anais Nin and Alice Sebold..to name a few..
