*I'm trying to get a band together. Look at my influences, and check out my tunes. If you or someone you know in the Austin area is into the same kind of stuff as me, I'd like to hear from you.*
My musical history is basically as follows:
Hip Cat's Alley - Houston, TX 1988-1990
Personality Crisis - Houston, TX 1990-1992
Solo Artist / Street musician, Pike Place Market - Seattle, WA 1992-1995
Solo Artist - Austin, TX 2007-Present
While in bands, I played 2nd guitar, wrote songs, and sang backup vox.
I play a Les Paul Studio thru a '65 Fender Super Reverb w/ only a Marshall Guv'nor.
Simple and sweet!
My acoustic is a 20 ish year old, beat to hell Ovation Ultra w/ built-in bridge pickup, and a big crack in the top.
After reading "The Moon And Sixpence" by W. Somerset Maugham, I decided to sell all my crap and move to Seattle to be a busker. Yeah, reading will fuck you up. I started writing songs I could sing and play by myself. As well, I learned some cover songs too. Not long after I arrived, "The Prettiest Girl In The World" got me a chick, a place to live, and a job. Thank you Tyla. The chick and the job only lasted a few months, but I stayed at that house for a while. I eventually enrolled at The Art Institute of Seattle, where I met the girl I spent almost 13 years with. I would play at The Pike Place Market after classes. Upon graduating at The Art Institute of Seattle, I pretty much quit playing to focus on a "real" career in Advertising, which turned out to be a bunch of bullshit.
I have an airbrush painting shop now. I plan to start painting guitars in the very near future.
And, I make bike parts.
For more info on that, check out my web sites.

A couple of years ago now, I picked up the guitar again and started getting my chops back. Though my life has been in chaos for the last year, I managed to keep my momentum going.
I moved to Austin, TX in May, 2007. Things have finally settled down, and the writing is starting to flow again. I started playing Open Mics and writing more original material. I'm starting to get real gigs now.
I will send out a bulletin if I am playing anywhere.
If anyone needs an opening act, anywhere in south/central Texas, gimme a shout. I'm not as concerned about making money as I am about getting out and playing.
I have enough material to cover 90 min +. My cover material includes songs by: The Dogs d'Amour, Tyla/Spike, Green Day, Social Distortion, Rolling Stones, Circus of Power, Audioslave, Cinderella, The Hangmen, and more.

Captain Morgan
Sam Adams
I generally like blues, roots rock, rockabilly, swing, some punk.
I grew up on Zeppelin, Rush, Floyd, Skynyrd, ZZ Top.
My parents exposed me to country people like Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, and Johnny Cash. I'm not a big fan of new country music, but Shania is f*'n HOT!
I saw The Dixie Chicks on Storytellers. I'd never paid them much attention, but they're badass. Although, I have always been on Natalie's side about the George W.comment. She's got big brass ones, and I admire her for that.
NEWER MUSIC-
99% of it sucks ass!
I can't stand Korn, Tool, System of a Down, or Staind. And, I seriously hate rap & hip hop! Even more than cats!

Sounds Like: you need to keep drinkin' & let me worry about the sound.

Record Label: Labels? We don't need no stinkin' labels!

" For You" Whats this song about?

There's no shortage of beautiful young girls that go out to L.A. to become "stars", but end up in prostitution, porn, or worse. I just wondered why, when things don't go as planned, they don't have a ...

About "Those Days Are Gone"

Nearly twenty years ago, in the Hip Cat's Alley and Personality Crisis days, Willie Dunivan and I wrote many songs together. When I look back now, there are a few songs that stand out from the rest. "...
