Balls Out was spawned as a ploy to revitalize the sound of pure metal energy that began to dissipate with the end of the 1980s. The story goes as so: Bones and Primetime met while working together (probably for the devil) and decided that a band must be made. They then called twin-evils in the art of metal, Bruiser and Drugs, and the band was almost complete. Later on, Hammerhead was born and Balls Out emerged. "The Price I Had to Pay" is a song that tells the epic battles each band member fought in order to be in the band.
