My Interests

I'm a...digital photographer, marathon runner, outdoors lover, salsa dancer, amateur videographer, music listener, gym goer, Keen camper, quiz thinker, Coventry supporter, film watcher, guitar player, enthusiastic teacher, healthy eater, laughter giver, creative drawer, regular reader...thats me!

I'd like to meet:

Nice people!

Music:

Having grown up in the 80's and 90's I preferred Prefab Sprout (anyone remember them?!), Crowded House, REM, 10,000 Maniacs, Natalie Merchant, Tracy Chapman, the Wonderstuff, the Levellers, the Saw Doctors, Hootie and the Blowfish and Deacon Blue, instead of the 'cheese' that was around then! Nowadays I enjoy listening to a wide range of music. The folkyness of Kate Rusby, Cara Dillon, Nickel Creek and Karine Polwart, rocking to the Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys, Athlete, Foo Fighters, Travis, Snow Patrol, Kings of Leon, Chilli Peppers, Razorlight, Oasis, the Kooks, Avril Lavigne, the Killers, Counting Crows, Hootie and the Blowfish, Green Day, Amy Winehouse. There's nothing like listening to live music. I love doing the gig and festival thing, whether its well known acts or new up-and-coming talent like the Mallon Brothers and Kinch.

Movies:

Dead Poets Society is my favourite film of all time. It inspired me to become a teacher. I also like Amelie and The (original) Italian Job...I always wanted to drive one of those minis! I was more of a Star Wars fan than a Trekki! And you just can't beat Ghost Busters, the Neverending Story and Gremlins! They don't make them like they used to!

Television:

Life on Mars, Skins, Doctor Who, Shameless, New Tricks, Spooks, Torchwood, Scrubs, Catherine Tate, Grand Designs, Simpsons, Property Ladder, Peter Kay, Heroes.

Books:

I enjoy reading a wide range of books from biographies to thrillers. I've read Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code. I've tried to read all the Harry Potters, but they're too thick! The film is usually out before I get to the end! My favourite book is the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.

Heroes:

People who help others, and those who stand-up for what they believe in.

London's Calling

It's now 3hrs and 57 mins into the London Marathon and I should be there, if it wasn't for a badly timed tackle during a 'friendly' football match. After dislocating my knee and rupturing my ligaments...
