About Me

Now then...and now it's all available on iTunes; sorry!
Welcome. It's just over a year since we were stood (freezing) under the shadow of Middlesbrough's iconic Transporter Bridge, surrounded by a frenzied media pack (alright one reporter from Look North and one from Middlesbrough Evening Gazette but they were fairly animated - probably just trying to keep warm!).
Our attempt at writing a Teesside Anthem, "Transporter", had thrown us into the spotlight!
The interest in that song fuelled our motivation to produce a CD of tunes which had been milling around our heads, half finished, for years. Teesside Music Alliance (TMA-a great bunch of people) decided to "Help the Aged" and with their support we were actually able to take that final step and record a CD...Transported. The idea is to try to publish and sell the songs really; rather than perform - although the plan seems to have evolved a bit differently, shall we say, so far.
As anyone who looked at our respective record collections would verify, we both have wide ranging musical tastes and Transported reflects this in the range and style of songs on the album. For instance we have a folk/bluegrass feel with Starman, techno with Sunshine and even eco-pop with Timebomb.
Something for everyone - and all done with a Teesside-Twist (it's a bit like a lemon-top).
Thanks to our mobility allowance we are getting out and about much more this year, doing a few live shows. We've also started the process of writing that difficult second album - we have what we think are some exciting songs in the pipeline, and have produced a "one-off" that will hopefully amuse: "Beach Baby - Seaton Carew Mix", which is posted here and now available on iTunes. 50% of anything we make on it is going to the RNLI as seems fair. Thanks to John Carter and Gil Shakespeare for allowing us to use the original tune and to Graham Mack of TFM radio for playing it on his breakfast show.
The last Georgian Theatre gig was a pleasure - it exceeded our own expectations. Thanks to Cath Briggs, Steve Elliott, Graham Pearson, Mike Howard and Phil Hall for providing their musical expertise. There are some great, pics taken by Matt Davenport, below. (Plus a bootleg mobile phone video!). We're playing at the Georgian Theatre again in October - the 18th - and hopefully we'll be reasonably ok!
Many thanks again for listening. Pls check out some of our friends, incuding Neale Muldowney "Livin'", Carl Eaton (all!), Jane Beacher's "Keep the world away"; plus a seriously good song by Butterfly Boucher - "Never leave your heart alone"; all brilliant.
