I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm just your average guy...I like to hang out with friends, though sometimes I just want some quiet time to myself, or with my fiance. I have the "Men's Den" with bar and pool table but it's usually inhabited by members of both sexes...very big Rush fan, but can easily listen to all types of music (plenty of Blues, Jazz, Big Band, etc. in my collection), love a good movie and a single-malt Scotch.

My Interests

I like music of any nature, as long as it's from the heart. I'm an avid reader & hockey enthusiast, and I most thoroughly enjoy watching how people behave in public - the entertainment never stops.

I'd like to meet:

I'd love to sit down with Mel Brooks, pick James Lipton's brain, chat and improv with Ryan Stiles and/or Colin Mochrey (sp?) from 'Whose Line is it, Anyway?', Tarantino, Dan Rowan (of Laugh-In fame), Scorsese, Kevin Smith would be a hoot (as well as Mewes, O'Halloran and Anderson), and if I could bring someone back from the great beyond for one conversation it would be author John D MacDonald, who had his finger, and his mind, on the pulse of society.

Music:

Ah, the list (in no particular order except the top 3, and at NO time will it ever be complete) - Rush (Hail, hail, Neil, Big Al and Geddy!!), Little Feat, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Clannad, Clapton, The Outfield, Jackson Browne, David Gilmour, Billy Joel, James Taylor, Dixie Dregs, Simon Apple, Crosby Stills Nash & Young (solo, together or any combination), the Police (Copeland's 'The Rhythmatist' is incredible, and the Summers/Fripp collaborations are something to behold), 60's and 70's Motown, the late, great SRV, Steve Smith/Vital Information, Treble Charger, Jerry Goodman, Ben Mink, Ben Folds, Louis Armstrong, Stan Getz, Tangerine Dream ('Underwater Sunlight' is GREAT background music for reading, and you must check out the soundtrack for 'Thief')

Movies:

DeNiro, Grodin, Farina, et al in "Midnight Run" (my over and over and over movie), The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (Badges??), The Godfather, any and all of the Kevin Smith collection, Animal House ("The Germans?", "Forget it, he's rollin'".), The Usual Suspects, Crash, The Notebook, anything Scorsese ever LOOKED at...(to be continued)

Television:

Current - Jeopardy and other intellectual game shows, Numb3rs, any of the Law & Order family, The Unit, the original CSI, Without a Trace, Criminal Minds, King of Queens, Two and a Half Men...just don't give me any of that stinkin' 'reality' shit.Classic - Cheers, Seinfeld, All in the Family, Sanford and Son, M*A*S*H, The Rockford Files, Get Smart, Starsky and Hutch, Magnum PI, Barney Miller...

Books:

Any and all of Neil Peart's bio/travelogues, the Spenser, Jesse Stone and Sunny Randall series by Robert B Parker, currently reading the Ross Malone series by Jeffrey McGraw, Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt, Ed McBain's 87th Precinct, John D MacDonald, Robert Ludlam, Lee Child, Jeffrey Deaver, Peter Gent's 'North Dallas 40' and 'North Dallas After 40', etc...this is another list that I will be adding to at some point.
