Anyone who doesn't bore me within the first five minutes. I'm not being stuck up, but come on people there must be better topics of conversation than how bad the weather is or Britney Spears' latest haircut. And these guys. This is an absolute work of genius.I'd also like to meet anyone else called Ken Jones.
...is the food of love. And hate. And bitter disappointment. And laughter. And sorrow. And if you don't understand what I mean you should probably expand your listening tastes. A few suggestions you might like to try are: Regurgitator - Absolute genius mixture of pop/punk/hip-hop/metal/techno and whatever else they happen to feel like playing. The Smashing Pumpkins - The pinnacle of guitar twiddling orchestral alterna rock. They Might Be Giants - Because Birdhouse In Your Soul is one of the catchiest tunes ever. The Moog Cookbook - The coolest elevator muzak in the world. Bob Dylan - Because I'm edgy and bohemian. And I grew up listening to my dad playing it all the time.
Gotta love Kevin Smith (I'm even prepared to admit that I don't totally hate Jersey Girl). Can't beat a bit of Kurosawa. And, of course, Star Wars. All six. Yes even Episode One.
24, Battlestar Galactica, anything by Adam & Joe, The Chaser's War On Everything, South Park and the Simpsons.
My all time favourite book (this week) is Flicker by Theodore Roszak. Out of print and very hard to find now. Kind of a film studies version of the Da Vinci Code (but it come out way before that). The cover says that it will change the way you watch movies forever - and it's true.
Each and everyone of you out there in MySpace land.
