First and foremost I would like to thank the Lord and my savior JESUS CHRIST for giving me an opportunity to be here on this earth and for them giving me the talent to entertain people and the fans. Life is to be taken very seriously and I want to live mine to the fullest. Life is precious and I don’t care what anyone says be thankful to the lord for having an opportunity to live life and I would like to thank the fans for the support and my family for being their and my girl and her family for being there supporting me.
Fresh on the music scene is an artist with talent and a flow that is sickening. When you think of rappers u think of people who just got lucky and ended up with a record deal. No not this rapper Young Block is a phenomenal rapper and has the skills to become the next legend in the rap game. Besides metaphors and flow changing ability this artist uses his skills to his advantage. Young Block is a kid that when you put him in the booth if the song doesn’t past his expectations scratch his verse and due it again Young Block also has a big bonus he is only 18 years of age and as lots of room to grow
Christopher Howard formally known as Young Block was born in Illinois on Scott Air Force Base on March 17 1990. Shortly after being born Young Block moved with the rest of his family in the St. Louis metro area. Young Block was raised in Baden until he was about 7 years of age and then he moved to the Riverview Gardens school district where he lived for a short while before he stated getting into trouble at school. Young Block has quoted this himself "man dem boys use to talk about me because I didn’t have they had. So after getting into many altercations in the Riverview school district Young Block moved to the South Side of St. Louis where he resided for a while with his aunt. Young blocks mother said she didn’t want anything to do with him because he causes to much trouble
From their Young Block started to hang out with the older men on his street which in hood terms would be called OG's. They taught him to be a hustler and everything you want in life is not free. If you want something you have to have it done your self. This is when Young Block got the ambition to become an inspired music artist. Why did this inspire him He said because when I was younger I knew every song on the radio and I can do that so from their he began write songs and keep them in his notebook he took everywhere. So now Young Block is about 12 years of age and he moves back with his mother and his mother did not want him to cause any trouble so he laid low for a minute and then one day Young Block and his mother got into an argument and he was took away to the local detention center.
From their Young Block was placed in and out of the detention center many of times and every time he went back he would have more and more to rap about especially the struggle in the streets everybody thought the streets where fun and games until homebois started getting knocked off and then that’s when Young Block got a whole bunch of reality checks that when a whole bunch of his friends kept dying to the streets he made up his mind and decided that he was going to pursue his music to become a bright star and help his people get out of the streets.
Now at the age of 18 Young Block is working even harder to pursue his goal he is working and is in college. So now he is getting ready to drop his first solo Mixtape DA NOTEBOOK MURDA. This Mixtape is providing his debut as a solo artist but really it’s not a Mixtape it’s an album. He is working hard on this project and it is expected to drop around December 2008. Young Block is also getting read to go on tour this summer with one of his fellow group member’s ki ki (Make the club rock and hood song). So now it is time for the long anticipated drop of the album DA NOTEBOOK MURDA and it will be available in a hood near you. SO keep your eyes open and travel through the journey while a superstar is in the making.
Young Block brings a business mentality to the rap game he also is one of the most talented artists to come out of the St. Louis especially because he is going up against a lot of talented artist on the rise right now. For Example there is XO, JAY KID AKA SAINT ORLEANS, LUDY, KI_KI, C-NO, and many more talented artist. This is an artist who one day will be and icon in hip hop history as history.
