They sacrificed thousands of their lives in deadly missions that ultimately saved thousands of American lives in the Vietnam War for democracy. The U.S. got them into war against our enemies, trained them, urged them to fight, depended on their bravery, then broke our promises to them as we pulled out without doing anything to protect them against the terrible revenge Vietnam and Laos would bring unto them. While the Americans mainly fought in the skies, (please view my pictures) it was difficult for them to attack any of their targets due to the cloudy skies of Laos and heavy foilage of the jungle. The Hmongs fought on land and some were even trained as pilots. It was the Hmongs who knew the jungle well. Today, the Hmong in Laos continue to be hunted down like animals, tortured and persecuted for their involvement. All the while, the world is finally learning of this "secret war" that they were involved in, in which the CIA never thought would be exposed. Finally, their voices are being heard. Yet still, nobody is listening to those left behind in Laos who are being hunted this very MINUTE!!! TODAY, There are 27,000 Hmong in Minnesota, and an estimated 5,000 to 7,000 of them fought in the CIA's special forces....Perhaps more worldwide. The Hmong population in the United States today is less than 1 percent.THE SECRET WAR IS THE ONLY REASON WHY HMONG'S TODAY RESIDE IN THE USA, UK AND CANADA. MANY FOLKS TO THIS DAY, STILL DO NOT KNOW WHAT OR WHO THE HMONG'S ARE.***To learn more about the Hmong people, please check out my blog and links.
