Soldiers for Christ World Ministries was founded May 11th, 2002 by Pastor Cedric B. McBride. The church has its humble beginnings in the McBride’s home.July 30th, 2002, Soldiers for Christ World Ministries acquired their first lease space at the corner of State Highway 6 & Beechnut Blvd. in Houston, Texas.July 15th, 2002, Soldiers for Christ held their first Praise Fest Celebration, and continues to spearhead this event annually to this day. Praise Fest aids in fulfilling the vision to reach the lost, and to promote unity and fellowship in the global body of Christ.On December 5th, 2002, within seven months of existence, Soldiers for Christ was recognized by the State of Texas as a Non-profit Corporation.January 11th, 2003, the Soldiers for Christ Food Pantry Program was established and made available to members in need of assistance, and to needy families and individuals in the surrounding communities. Within the first three years of ministry, Soldiers for Christ has successfully helped hundreds of homeless Houstonians by providing basic essentials such as food, clothing and personal hygiene items.April 7th, 2004, Soldiers for Christ World Ministries, Inc. received their letter of determination from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) recognizing them as a 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Organization. This exemption status helps to identify Soldiers for Christ as a legally established non-profit entity in the eyes of reputable companies and organization who wish to support the work of the ministry through their giving of finances, property, materials, supplies, and other support needed to effectively reach the World with the Gospel.In accordance with the church Vision, Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation to plant churches, and provide ministerial covering and accountability to associate churches and other ministry groups, Soldiers for Christ currently provide ministerial covering and accountability for one daughter church, “Greater Works Ministry†where the senior pastor is Pastor Cheryl D.
