Murrayfield Music is a Production / Management / Publishing company based in Paris and run by Scottish independent producer/manager Peter Murray .
Pete Murray’s biog :
Pete Murray created his first label “OFF THE TRACK RECORDS†in 88 with French sound engineer E.T. The first signings included the legendary STIFF RECORDS label for France and then followed direct signings with THE POGUES, Dr FEELGOOD, 3 MUSTAPHAS 3, The MINT JULEPS, ZERO DE CONDUITE, MAUJARD, CURTIS MAYFIELD, BRUT d’AUVERGNE, the BBC JOHN PEEL SESSIONS, APPLE MOSAIC (the highly talented guitarist Ian Dench went on to form EMF), Les NEGRESSES VERTES and ELMER FOOD BEAT .
In ’92 Murray launched the NORD SUD label for BARCLAY RECORDS and signed and produced ZEBDA, the SONS OF THE DESERT, the FRENCH LOVERS, HELIOS MORTIS and LUDOVIC TRIAIRE.
In 1995, Murray created MURRAYFIELD MUSIC with first signing the ideal politically incorrect band SILMARILS, followed by DOLLY, MY FAVOURITE DENTIST IS DEAD, TEASPOON, DUN LEIA and a solo album by The CHRISTIANS front man GARRY CHRISTIAN.
Passionate about all things audio, Murray joined forces with friend and ex-Off the Track employee J.P CHALBOS in ’97 to form LA SOURCE MASTERING, now France’s top audio mastering facility.
After a stint as CEO for GRANDLINK NETWORK, a Luxembourg based technology company where Murray developed an innovative b2b system using satellite to deliver broadcast quality files to TV and radio, Murray, missing loud guitars, signs FICKLE from sunny Aix-en-Provence in the south of France. Their first album ID was released in the summer 2006 and made it to the n°1 spot in the Indie Charts on French national radio station LE MOUV. FICKLE are presently in pre-production for their next album which will be produced by the legendary AL CLAY. The new blood on the label from Toulouse in the south west of France and fresh out of high school is THE DODOZ. The first album has been recorded with with CLIVE MARTIN and PIERRE ROUGEAN. Murrayfield has just done a deal with NUDE RECORDS for UK release in April 2008. The British press has described THE DODOZ as "Youth in it's purest form"
