Townsend Twainhart is also published as JOT Klinker and Chris. J. Wright, Author – Artist. Born 1949 Alturas, California. Author and illustrator of “Bill and the Purple Cow in Oz”. Published writer for: All the wests Old, True and Wild, Senior, Gold Prospector, Blazing Adventure Zine, Copperfield Review, LOST, Horizon (Ca), The Written Word, California Highway Patrolman, Senior Lifestyle, The California Territorial magazines, Inyo Album and numerous others. Townsend is also a writer for Art and Prose magazine and was showcased in the May 2007 Issue. He was a columnist for the Lost River Star, Capitola Courier, and Butte Valley Star. Mr. Twainhart is the creator of the popular Wizard of Oz funny money under Chris. J. Wright. He is currently working on a new Book with witty country sayings titled "Rattlesnake Don't Taste Like Chicken".
Townsend is the nephew of renown Death Valley, oil painter, Orpha Klinker, and Zeno Klinker, who was the (head writer for Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy), and the Grandson of Los Angeles commercial artist Jud Wright.
He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and the Cold War, and was honorably discharged in 1972 and awarded the National Defense, Good Conduct ribbons, SASCOM Citation and Cold War Certificate of Reconition. Townsend is a graduate in Criminal Justice from Moorpark, Ventura, Santa Rosa, Sacramento City, and American River Colleges in California.
He was a California Highway Patrolman and California Fish and Game Warden. He is a Past President of the Fish and Game Warden Protective association, Director, and Collective Bargainer for the California Union of Safety Employees. Twainhart was also a Deputy Agent with United States Fish and Wildlife Service and is still and agent with the National Marine Fisheries. He served as a California State Fair Board director, and a Lieutenant with the Klamath County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse.
Townsend is a member of Children Book Writers and Illustrators Association and was a member of the Western Writer’s Association. Mr. Twainhart takes photographs under the Paw Prints Photography moniker for his travel and historical articles and has shot six covers for three of the magazines listed above, and three others not listed.
Townsend resides in northern Modoc County, California close to the Oregon border, where he rides horses and fly fishes when he is not updating or repairing his 1940's ranch house.

Horses and Guns, Flyfishing and Writing, Artwork and Photography, meeting new friends on line, building and ...oh, did I mention romancing pretty girls? I'm always open to meeting new friends on line, the more around the old corral the better!

The Searchers, Red River, Dances with Wolves, some musicals, old TV western music, Bronco, Sugarfoot, Bonanza, Have Gun Will Travel, Maverick etc., So Long and thanks for all the Fish (Hitchhker's guide to the Galaxy, Beyond the Blue Horizon (Michael Nesmith), Victory at Sea and various movie music. I like some classical, vintage country western and old time Rock and Roll.

Red River, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, Treasure Island, Dances with Wolves, Out of Africa, Lethal Weapon, Hook, Home Alone, The Adventures of Mark Twain, Pirates of the Carribean (all), The Sacketts, All the Die Hards, Out West, and a Bill Murray movie to make me happy!

Have Gun Will Travel, NCIS, Dirty Jobs, Ghost Whisperer and Blog Cabin (Jenifer Love Hewit and Amy Devers are just so fine to look at and so talented) any old B&W westerns; Sugarfoot Cheyene, Bronco, Cimmaron Strip, MAVERIC etc. Crusader Rabbit (betcha don't remember that one) and the Road Runner, beep - beep! Dr. Who, the new Torchwood BBC series. Anything with Michael Palin Dead Parrot Sketch included.

Any by Robert Service, All the Oz series by L. Frank Baum and Ruth Plumly Thomason, Ann Mcaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern Books.
