About Me

Quixotic Wino Screenwriter
I'm a soft spoken Michigander with delusions of grandeur.
I consider curiosity to be the single most important personality trait a human being can have.
I hate most television and the impulse to turn it on.
I do not have a favorite c o l o r .
I have entirely too many blue shirts.
I am equally comfortable at a white linen restaurant, a picnic on the beach, a trendy night club or a little hole-in-the-wall diner.
I can confidently ask someone to sign a hundred-thousand dollar deal but feel bad if I have to borrow a nickel.
I do not like to shave.
I'm a fundamentalist scientist. I believe you shouldn't be able to pick and choose which parts of science you want to "believe" in. Either you take the whole shebang, with our space probes, genetically engineered medicines, and 40 mpg engines, or it's back to picking berries out of bushes with you.
I try very hard to not say something about someone unless I'm also willing to say it to their face.
I have a loving family and an incredible support system strung out across the country (and it seems to be expanding into foreign markets as well).
My mother sent me to Hollywood and said "Go fix that."
I believe that people have to try to be good.
"It seems like more and more we've come to expect less and less from each other, and I'd like to be the first to start bucking that trend."
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the clouds of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron."
--Dwight Eisenhower 1953 speech
"The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality."
--Dante
"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."~ Benjamin Franklin

My Interests

I love almost every kind of printed word (internet forwards with bad luck implications can die).

I live and die with the

I love Indy and foreign films.

I write character-driven screenplays with a dark edge and a dry sense of humor... with the occasional Horror film thrown in for good measure.

I'm addicted to those weird little Listerine Oral Care Strips.

I have an appreciation for almost every kind of wine made.

I like to answer rhetorical questions.

I like to learn about strange facts and random bits of history (a giraffe's neck has the same number of vertebrae as a human being's).

I play the bass guitar.

I like Cheez-Its, popcorn, sushi and pretzels, but I will eat just about anything you put in front of me.

I like live music, live comedy, and exhibitions of dead artists' work.

I like to randomly compliment people for no reason.

I like watching Karaoke.

I'd like to meet:

I want to meet a millionaire wine heiress who really wants to finance a bunch of independent films written by a wine geek from Holland, Michigan. If she's not available, I'm just looking for friends in general. All shapes, sizes, and backgrounds.

(Special points for storytellers, do-gooders, rapscallions, wandering minstrels, and people doing the best they can with what they were given.)

Music:

Jenna Bryson brought me back to playing music and I am forever in her debt.

Motown or on an Oldie's station. Any Cake album will show you a good time. Anyone who can play the piano.
