I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

First, check out this music video.....This layout is by ProfileTweaks.comI am sorry but I won't accept your friend request unless you send me a message.......My name is Amanda Fischer. I grew up in Delaware and moved to New York when I was 17, and finished high school in Kingston. My first job was at Burger King. I have also waited tables and before I joined the Guard I was working at Jiffy Lube. I was interested in enlisting in Active Duty Army but realized that I would be stationed elsewhere and I don't like the thought of being away from my friends and family. Especially my kid brother! A few months later I heard about the National Guard and thought, "THAT'S FOR ME!" I joined because of the college benefits, the bonus money, the job training, and most of all career direction! And with the National Guard, I can be stationed locally and go to college in New York, while staying with the people I love! I seriously couldn't have made a better choice for myself! I have been a recruiter for almost two years now and I love every day of it! I worked very hard to get this job. I love what the Guard did for me and I want to help others reach their goals as I have! I have been in for over four years total and plan to make it a life-long journey! YOU CAN too!! (lol I know that sounds corny, but hey... I'm serious!)...The Army National Guard offers many great benefits and opportunites for people looking to further their education or just looking for job training and leadership skills!! Here are just a few of the benefits we offer: College Tuition Assistance: If at anytime during your military career you decide to go to college, the National Guard will pay up to $4,500 a year to any university, technical or trade school or your choice. GI Bill and Kicker: After finishing your basic training and AIT you will recieve $309 a month for your GI Bill and may be eligible for a $200 a month Kicker. That comes out to $509 a month extra just to be a full-time student! Job Training: You will pick an MOS (military occupancy specialty) in the field of your choice. You will recieve job training that will transfer to the civilian world and receive college credits as well. GED PLUS Program: This is a 16 day course in Little Rock, Arkansas. You will recieve full time pay while attending this school, and after the 16 days you will recieve your GED. Additional benefits include: enlistment bonuses (up to $20,000), a monthly pay check, $400,000 life insurance, college credits for basic and AIT, shopping privileges at military installations, and access to the National Guard Credit Union for help with loans and financing!! I know talking to a Recruiter can seem pretty intimidating sometimes, but feel free to drop me a message with any comments, concerns, or questions you may have. All I can do is help. That's why I'm here...

My Interests

The National Guard, the oldest component of the Armed Forces of the United States and one of the nation's longest enduring institutions, celebrated its 366th birthday in 2002. The National Guard traces its history back to the earliest English colonies in North America. Responsible for their own defense, the colonists drew on English military tradition and organized their able-bodied male citizens into militias. The citizen-soldiers who make up the National Guard have fought in every major American war since 1637. War has changed a great deal since 1637, and today's Guard must be prepared to fight in a high-technology environment, using complex weapons and equipment. The men and women of today's Guard are ready to become full-time professional soldiers if the need arises, whether for federal or state missions just as they did in 1637...
