DJ Profile Gavin DuffyGavin Duffy having started to buy his 1st vinyl at age 14 in 1991 and getting a job in a local bar his interest in dance music and the whole dj techniques grabbed his attention. Like any other DJ looking to ply his trade he studied the art of mixing scratching and organizing parties whenever where ever it was at age 16 that Gavin’s 1st big gig came to light in 1993 at “Spectrum†courtesy of Residents Pat Hyland & Mick Walsh. It was a Friday night gig at then Spectrum/Sides supporting Residents. This gig became a regular every 3rd Friday gig over the next 4 years with regular guest appearances. Later “Spectrum/Sides†became “Gravity†and later closed its doors in 1997. Other Clubs were coming on board at this time Most Notably The Ormond print works, “The Asylum,†& “Grouchos†and the “Temple of sound†Gavin Held a forth-nightly residency in Groucho’s with Dj Casper and Brian Chamber land. (1996/1998) Alternating every 2 weeks. Grouch’s later closed its doors in 1998 and is now Spy bar with club Wax down stairs. I also held a monthly residency in The Asylum on a Saturday night 3rd floor with other Dj’s on rotation. (1996/1998) Having these Fridays and Saturdays left no room for any other gigs so after parties was were we were playing mostly Beach/Warehouse/House all above board of course. This brings the infamous TEMPLETHEATRE and me onto 1998 this club rocked for at least 5 years. Having never played the main stage I was involved in the downstairs bar the Crypt (1998/2003). I also worked radio NOVA DANCE 94.7 (1995/1998) KISS 105.8 (1998/2002) and was involved in some promoting and and advertisement work. In 2003 to 2006 I took a career break went back to college to do some study still involved in music in 2007 I rekindled a night in Sin Sycamore street in the march ’07 till October.In 2006 I got more I have gotten more involved with digital and Production working with some close friends and together were trashing out idea’s for tracks organizing nights through Radioactive promotions Dublin.
