At the ripe, supple age of 7 I was listening to WAPE (The Big Ape) in Jacksonville, FL. Listening to such great talents that have moved on to major markets (I cant remember any of them) but at 7 I started recording songs and then recording myself posting the intro trying to sound like the guys on air , but it didn't...surprisingly.By the age of 10 I would make it a point every weekend to listen to Rick Dees and the weekly top 40 . Yep, while most 10 year olds were in to Nintendo, and skate boards , I was getting fat listening to the radio.Fast forward to 15 when I got my first radio job (WZKX) (on April Fool's oddly enough) I was to run this new syndicated show called After midnight with Blair Gardner. I was so excited to hit the button when he went to local break. Then I got to do weather....I was shitting in my pants ! From there the station dropped after midnight (owner wanted to save money) Lucky for me guess who got it first LIVE air shift at 16? By 18 I was doing 7-midnight kicking ass with the number 1 show on the coast (Biloxi/Gulfport) . I had better numbers than our own morning show! I was number 1 with women in every demo. After the third year automation had came along and so went my show (and the numbers)! I moved on to WKSJ in Mobile doing weekends waiting on a full time gig.Looking on all access one day I found the perfect job! Sitting at home ID-ing songs for a company called Mediabase 24/7. I did that for 2 years and really wanted to be back on air. So, I went back to KSJ (Clear Channel) as the Assistant Promotions Director , and did an air shift on 96.1 The Rocket plus Fill in where needed including morning show co host on WKSJ. I'm now doing master control at the Clear Channel TV station in town (not CC for long!)
